Trivia
- Chatot's US name was revealed on December 17, 2006.
- Prior to the release of Diamond and Pearl, Chatot was believed to be the first naturally pure Flying type Pokémon.
- Chatot is the only Pokémon that says its name in its Cry. However, in the English version of the games, it still says its Japanese name "Perap" rather than "Chatot".
Origin
Chatot is apparently based on a parrot. Its head looks like a musical note, and its tail resembles a metronome.
Name origin
Chatot's name comes from chat and parrot. Chatot's Japanese name comes from the words parrot and rap. The name could also come fromt he Japanese word perapera, which can mean "fluent in languages" and is also similar to "blablabla", refering to the fact that real world parrots can learn to speak human languages, and sometimes talk too much.
