Instruct (Japanese: さいはい Command) is a non-damaging Psychic-type move introduced in Generation VII. It is the signature move of Oranguru.

Effect

151Mew.png This move effect may be in need of research.
Reason: Can a move be used that has since been disabled or forgotten, or a status move after being taunted?
If a Pokémon uses Round a second time this turn, is its power doubled? Are there more moves that cannot be called?

You can discuss this on the talk page.

Instruct causes the target to repeat its most recent move immediately; PP will be deducted from moves used in this manner. If the target has yet not made a move this turn when instructed to use its most recent move, it may still use the move it originally selected afterwards.

Instruct will fail if the target has not made any move, is in the middle of a consecutively executed move (such as Outrage) or Bide, or when the instructed move's PP is depleted. It will also fail if the target's most recent move is Instruct itself, Bide, Struggle, a move that requires recharging (such as Hyper Beam), a move that calls another move (such as Metronome), or a Z-Move. If the instructed move is Fake Out or First Impression, the target will use them, but the moves will fail.

Using an instructed move is a separate action; the instructed Pokémon can individually be prevented from executing the instructed move (e.g. by sleep, confusion, flinch or Truant).

If powered up by a Psychium Z into Z-Instruct, the user's Special Attack rises one stage.
