Magmortar (Japanese: ブーバーン Booburn) is a Fire-type Pokémon.
It evolves from Magmar when traded holding a Magmarizer. It is the final form of Magby.
Biology
Physiology
Magmortar is a large, vaguely humanoid, red-and-yellow-striped Pokémon with an egg-shaped body. Notably, it has yellow, tubular arms with three small claws on each "hand." When Magmortar prepares to shoot fire from its hands, the claws may disappear into its skin, forming something similar to a cannon. Its legs are similar to its pre-evolution's, except that Magmortar has pink thighs and its legs are smaller in proportion to its body. It also has pink lips and a mouth usually seen in a smile. It has one large flame on its head, as well as large flames on its shoulders and tail. Also, it has four pink spikes on its back.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Magmortar can use any attack its pre-evolutions do, but more powerfully. It can also use Thunderbolt, Earthquake, SolarBeam, and Rock Slide, all of which can be useful in taking down foes with a type advantage over it.
Behavior
It blasts fireballs of over 3,600°F (2,000°C) from its cannon-like arms, its body taking on a whitish hue from the heat.
Habitat
Magmortar like to live in the deep, boiling-hot craters of volcanoes.

Trivia
- Magmortar, along with Electivire, Gliscor, and Tangrowth, are the only Generation IV Pokémon that explicitly required the use of a Generation III game in order to be available until the release of Pokémon Platinum. In this case, both the Magmarizer and Magby are only available through dual-slot mode with Pokémon LeafGreen.
- Magmortar can learn ThunderPunch, a move not of its type, in three different ways: as a starting move, by tutoring, and as an Egg move. It shares this trait with its counterpart, Electivire, who learns Fire Punch in this manner.
- Magmortar and Electivire's relation is reminiscent of that of Reshiram and Zekrom, since both are oppositions between fire and electricity.
Origin
Magmortar seems to be a buffed-up combination of a duck or booby with a mythical Salamander.
Name origin
Magmortar may be a combination of magma and mortar (referring to how it shoots fireballs from its cannon-like arms).
Booburn is a combination of booby and burn.
