Behemoth Blade (Japanese: きょじゅうざん Behemoth Slash) is a damage-dealing Steel-type move introduced in Generation VIII. It is the signature move of Zacian.

Effect

Behemoth Blade deals damage. If the target is Dynamaxed or Gigantamaxed, its damage is doubled. The bonus does not apply to Eternamax Eternatus, despite its similarities to a Gigantamaxed Pokémon.

Generation IX

As Dynamaxed and Gigantamaxed Pokémon are absent in Generation IX, Behemoth Blade now deals damage with no secondary effect.

Games Description SwShLA The user becomes a gigantic sword and cuts the target. This move deals twice the damage if the target is Dynamaxed. BDSP This move can't be used. It's recommended that this move is forgotten. Once forgotten, this move can't be remembered. SV The user wields a large, powerful sword using its whole body and cuts the target in a vigorous attack.

Special move

If Zacian knows Iron Head while entering battle in its Crowned Sword form, Iron Head will become Behemoth Blade for the duration of the battle.

• If used by a transformed Pokémon, Behemoth Blade will display a shorter animation with the transformed Pokémon stuck in a default pose.
• Behemoth Blade and Behemoth Bash were formerly not present in the mobile version of Pokémon HOME's move Pokédex, as they are the signature moves of Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta (which are forms that appear only in battles and, therefore, cannot be deposited into HOME) and cannot be learned by a Smeargle via Sketch, as it is not present in Pokémon Sword and Shield. With the addition of Smeargle to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the former four moves were finally added to Pokémon HOME.
  • This distinction is shared with Glacial Lance and Astral Barrage for the same reasoning, as well as Struggle and Light of Ruin, both of which cannot be legitimately learned by any Pokémon.
