Behemoth Bash (Japanese: きょじゅうだん Behemoth Impact) is a damage-dealing Steel-type move introduced in Generation VIII. It is the signature move of Zamazenta.

Effect

Behemoth Bash deals damage. If the target is Dynamaxed or Gigantamaxed, its damage is doubled. The bonus does not apply to Eternamax Eternatus, despite its similarities to a Gigantamaxed Pokémon.

Generation IX

As there is no Dynamax mechanic in Generation IX, Behemoth Bash now deals damage with no secondary effect.

Description

Games Description SwShLA The user becomes a gigantic shield and slams into the target. This move deals twice the damage if the target is Dynamaxed. BDSP This move can't be used. It's recommended that this move is forgotten. Once forgotten, this move can't be remembered. SV The user's body becomes a firm shield and slams into the target fiercely.

Special move

If Zamazenta knows Iron Head while entering battle in its Crowned Shield form, Iron Head will become Behemoth Bash for the duration of the battle.

Pokémon GO

In Pokémon GO, Behemoth Bash is a Charged Attack that debuted on May 29, 2025. It replaces Iron Head when Zamazenta transforms from its Hero of Many Battles form into its Crowned Shield form. Behemoth Bash can also be used in Max Battles as a Max Move, and can be leveled up as one. Behemoth Bash can't be replaced with another move using Charged TMs. Its Adventure Effect outside of battle, which became available on June 24, 2025, will reduce the damage taken by Pokémon by 10% during Raids and by 5% during Max Battles. It costs 5,000 Stardust and 5 Zamazenta Candy, and lasts 6 minutes.

Trivia

• Behemoth Bash and Behemoth Blade were formerly not present in the mobile version of Pokémon HOME's move Pokédex, as they are the signature moves of Crowned Shield Zamazenta and Crowned Sword Zacian (which are forms that appear only in battles and, therefore, cannot be deposited into HOME) and cannot be learned by a Smeargle via Sketch, as it is not present in Pokémon Sword and Shield. With the addition of Smeargle to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the two moves were finally added to Pokémon HOME.
  • This distinction is shared with Glacial Lance and Astral Barrage for the same reasoning, as well as Struggle and Light of Ruin, both of which cannot be legitimately learned by any Pokémon.
