Pokémon fusion
A fusion (Japanese: 合体 united body) is a special kind of transformation in which a Pokémon absorbs another one to become a new form. This process is done through the use of certain special items. The mechanic was first introduced in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. All fusible Pokémon and their materials are Legendary Pokémon.
The reversion of a fusion is a separation (Japanese: 分離 separation).

- Since the mechanic was introduced in Generation 5, Generation 6 is the only one without a fusible Pokémon, although Zygarde utilizes a similar form-changing mechanic.
