History

Black & White arc

Tornadus first appeared in A Stormy Time in the Battle Subway, where he encounters Thundurus near the Battle Subway train and begins to engage the Bolt Strike Pokémon in battle. As the train stops due to the rough weather, White and Shauntal try to drive the two away. White has Darlene attack the two with Leech Seed, which the two paid no attention to. Shauntal then has her Jellicent attack Tornadus with Energy Ball and Thundurus with Shadow Ball. This only further enrages the two Pokémon and the two clash, forming a twister of wind and lightning. Soon after, Landorus appears to stop the two, as they are destroying crops in their battle, and easily restrains them. While departing into the sky, Tornadus was caught alongside Thundurus and Landorus by Giallo.

Tornadus was later given to the Shadow Triad alongside Thundurus and Landorus to use in their battle against the Unova Gym Leaders at the Nacrene Museum to try to get the Dark Stone. The trio immediately gains an upper hand, creating a tornado of wind, lightning, and rocks. The Shadow Triad then have the trio attempt to destroy the entrance to the museum's basement where the Dark Stone is located, but they are unable to break through. The Forces of Nature then depart to N's Castle with the Shadow Triad, carrying the defeated Gym Leaders in a sphere of wind and lightning.

Tornadus was later given to Colress in order to figure out how to change Tornadus between his Incarnate and Therian Formes. In Cold Hard Truth, Colress, disguised as Hood Man, sends out Tornadus to fight against the Elite Four alongside Thundurus and Landorus to further collect data about his Therian Forme. The trio eventually flee in the middle of their battle, forcing the Elite Four to track them down. The Elite Four soon find the Forces of Nature and Marshal has Caitlin assist him with her Gothitelle's Telekinesis, allowing Marshal and his Sawk to fight their airborne opponents. Shauntal quickly has her Golurk attack Tornadus with Heavy Slam, causing major damage to the Cyclone Pokémon. While watching the battle Hood Man discovers that mirrors are the key to changing Tornadus to his Therian Forme and that he still needs to find the correct mirror. Hood Man then notices that Ghetsis is in trouble and recalls the trio while going to assist him.

Black 2 & White 2 arc

Two years later, Tornadus appears before Blake and Whitley on Route 20, attacking the two Trainers. Tornadus changes into his Therian Forme with the help of the Reveal Glass, which had been obtained by Team Plasma. Blake has his Dewott attack Tornadus with Razor Shell, which Tornadus easily dodges. Dewott then tries a combination attack of Razor Shell and Aqua Jet, which Tornadus evades before quickly retaliating with multiple Air Slashes. Recognizing the Cyclone Pokémon's strength, Blake sends out Keldemaru to help assist Dewott in the battle. Tornadus is quickly overwhelmed by the two Pokémon and their combination attacks of Sacred Sword and Razor Shell. Tornadus then notices Giallo, who was the Cyclone Pokémon's original target when coming to route 20. Tornadus quickly takes out Giallo's Krookodile and begins to escape with the sage. To prevent Tornadus from escaping, Blake has Keldemaru attack with Ice Beam, followed by Dewott's Razor Shell, freezing Tornadus solid. With Tornadus frozen, the Team Plasma Grunts retreat, returning Tornadus to his Poké Ball.

Personality and characteristics

Tornadus is a powerful Pokémon, holding his own against other Legendary and Mythical Pokémon like Thundurus and Keldemaru. Tornadus is incredibly fast, using his speed to outmaneuver opponents and was mention by Blake that his Genesect's High-Speed Flight Form was inferior to the Cyclone Pokémon's speed. Rough weather typically accompanies Tornadus and he is said to never stay in the same place for more than five minutes. He has a strong rivalry with Thundurus, as the two battle so often it is common knowledge that Landorus is constantly restraining them from fighting. Tornadus seems to have no allegiance, as he had no problem attacking Giallo.

Team Plasma's Thundurus (Japanese: プラズマ団のボルトロス Plasma-dan's Voltolos) was the first of the Forces of Nature to appear and was later caught by Team Plasma.

History

Prior to the start of the Black & White arc, Elesa encountered Thundurus on her way to her grandmother's house on Route 7. Sometime after the encounter Elesa tried and failed to catch the Bolt Strike Pokémon.

Thundurus first appeared in Battle on a Roller Coaster, where Black encountered him in Nimbasa City outside the Gym. Black was taken outside the gym on a roller coaster car that was malfunctioning due to N's Zorua tampering with the controls. When Black noticed the Bolt Strike Pokémon, Thundurus struck Black with lightning and disappeared.

In A Stormy Time in the Battle Subway, Thundurus encounters Tornadus near the Battle Subway train and begins to engage the Cyclone Pokémon in battle. His lightning quickly stops the train's automatic stop mechanism, which causes White and Shauntal to try to drive the two away. White has Darlene attack the two with Leech Seed, which the two paid no attention to. Shauntal then has her Jellicent attack Thundurus with Shadow Ball and Tornadus with Energy Ball. This only further enrages the two Pokémon and the two clash, forming a twister of lightning and wind. Soon after, Landorus appears to stop the two, as they are destroying crops in their battle, and easily restrains them. While departing into the sky, Thundurus was caught alongside Tornadus and Landorus by Giallo.

Thundurus was later given to the Shadow Triad alongside Tornadus and Landorus to use in their battle against the [[Unova[[ Gym Leaders at the Nacrene Museum to try to get the Dark Stone. The trio immediately gains an upper hand, creating a tornado of lightning, wind, and rocks.

Thundurus was later given to Colress in order to figure out how to change Thundurus between his Incarnate and Therian Formes. In Cold Hard Truth, Colress, disguised as Hood Man, sends out Thundurus to fight against the Elite Four alongside Tornadus and Landorus to further collect data about his Therian Forme. Caitlin then decides to focus on Thundurus and has Gothitelle attack with Psyshock, dealing major damage to the Bolt Strike Pokémon. While watching the battle Hood Man discovers that mirrors are the key to changing Thundurus to his Therian Forme and that he still needs to find the correct mirror. Hood Man then notices that Ghetsis is in trouble and recalls the trio while going to assist him.

Personality and characteristics

Thundurus is a powerful Pokémon, holding his own against other Legendary Pokémon like Tornadus. Thundurus is incredibly fast, said to be able to fly from corner to corner of Unova in just one day.
