Glaciate

Kyurem actually did use Glaciate. On here, it says Glaciate is a more powerful version of Icy Wind. Kyurem blew a wind at Ash before he attacked with Dragon Pulse. I believe the blast of wind was Glaciate. - unsigned comment from Yveltal-Lugia (talkcontribs)

Brawly's Hariyama's gender

This has been bugging me for a while. Was Hariyama's gender confirmed to be male officially in Pokémon Adventures? I saw it placed on its own article and on Brawly's page before it disappeared/got removed. Not saying that you did it or anything, I was just asking you as you may know about this. BW090 ENG dub and Jessie's Wobbuffet's gender

They didn't feature the Who's That Pokémon? segment in the English dub for an unknown reason. I know Garchomp was chose to this one, just like in Japan, but I can't edit it until they show it again in future airings. It's Garchomp for sure! Even if they show it again, I swear it'll be a Garchomp. And Jessie's Wobbuffet is a male, I discovered its gender, it doesn't wearing a lipstick on its mouth. Pikachu65 14:40, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

That doesn't confirm anything. Wobbuffet existed before Gender differences. Ataro (talk) 14:57, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

Right. It does make sense. Pikachu65 15:43, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

Trivia on Giga Drain

Why isn't the fact that Paul is the only one who has commanded the use of Giga Drain notable in Paul's page or the Giga Drain page? I am Mikoro (wanna talk?) 13:23, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Because it isn't notable at all. Pointing out that only one person's Pokemon has used a move is unnecessary. He's not even the only one to do that. Nurse Joy's the only Trainer with a Pokemon to use Minimize, but it's not on the trivia. Ataro (talk) 13:30, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
I don't see the point in not putting it. I agree, it's not vitally important, but it is a fact and deserves to be known by others. Until you give me a good enough reason why it should not be included, I will not drop the subject. That includes Nurse Joy's using Minimize. I am Mikoro (wanna talk?) 14:45, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
It's redundant. There is no point stating in the trivia section information which becomes obvious when looking at the list of Pokémon that have used the move in the anime. If we allowed this kind of trivia, the trivia sections would be twice as long as the rest of the article and no-one would read them because of that. Werdnae (talk) 18:37, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
I guess that makes sense..... I had never seen that list before anyway. And Ataro, you could have just told me that instead. I am Mikoro (wanna talk?) 19:17, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Minor request

Hey Ataro, I saw from your tags that you're a Pokémon Colosseum/Pokémon XD/Generation III/Generation IV/Generation V player. I would like to request something relevant to the Poké Transfer page... currently, the location data for Pokémon from Orre is empty... I'm pretty sure it's "a faraway place" as seen in Pal Park, but could you confirm that this is also the case for Poké Transfer? Thanks in advance!! ht14 16:17, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

Correction: "distant land". I'm thinking of something else. ht14 16:19, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
Sorry... one final thing. I'm also curious about how Nature Power and Camouflage would work in Pokémon XD and Colosseum... and I might have more questions later but seriously, thanks so much!! ht14 16:28, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

Volume 15 cover

Okay I really don't want to get into any arguments, and especially no edit wars. Why did you delete the picture I uploaded onto the Volume 15 page? That's the recently released Volume 15 cover from Viz and this site uses Viz's cover for the page pictures over all others. Arceus101 (talk) 02:29, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Because I already uploaded that pic two days ago. It may not look like here on the Pedia, but that's because it takes a while for it to change here. Check on the Archives to see it. Ataro (talk) 02:33, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Al and Harry controversy

Okay let's not get into any edit wars here and try to solve this out (I was confused too when I saw what I did). The ponytail guy serves under Koga because he uses poison-types in Yellow and GSC chapter and he captured Articuno for Koga to use. The non-ponytail guy uses psychic types in Yellow and GSC and he controlled Moltres which was Sabrina's bird. The thing that confused me and it looks like it's confusing you too is how ponytail seems to be controlling Girafarig in GSC. But look again at the Yellow chapter where the Elite trio appeared and look at the flow chart where it depicts those three serving under the gym leaders. Ponytail dude is shown with Koga and the other dude is shown with Sabrina. I checked with the guys on Serebii forum and we came to the conclusion that the writers made a big mistake by switching Al and Harry between Yellow and GSC and they sorta cleared it up on the official site by not really giving Girafarig a definite owner. Oh and let me point out that your edit on the TRET page makes a contradiction. It lists ponytail guy as having the Pokemon that the non-ponytail guy had in the Moltres chapter. Look closely. Do you see what I'm saying? Arceus101 (talk) 06:00, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

Here's the link to the forum topic that I posted a couple months ago. See if it helps you understand what I'm saying. http://www.serebiiforums.com/showthread.php?590625-Volume10-Owner-of-Girafarig Arceus101 (talk) 06:05, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
Look, I don't know what Kusaka is doing, but what I do know is that this page quite explicitly states that dark hair = Ken, spiky hair = Al, and ponytail = Harry. Same for their original name revealing. Something needs fixing. Ataro (talk) 07:08, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
Yes I know that ponytail is Harry and spiky hair is Al. But what I'm saying is that it looks like Kusaka might have switched Al and Harry in the GSC chapter because Al is using poison-types and Harry is using psychic-types. And you're listing Harry's Pokemon in the RBG chapter under Al's profile and vice-versa. Arceus101 (talk) 18:04, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

Pokémon Adventures volume 43

Have you got access to it yet? Basically wondering about those rounds if they are in the same order as ABW01-ABW04 if so we can at least move those four pages I think. --ZestyCactus 18:34, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

Regarding Ninfia

I think you should also lock the one with the title "Ninfeon" as well, just in-case any fans may create a speculation page on an English name that hasn't officially been announced by The Pokémon Company International.

Just wanted to let you know!

PS461 - PS464

Hey Ataro, those four rounds have titles that are "VS Whatever" listed as the English title. Where did those titles come from? Like are they from that suspected VIZ Media volume coming soon or what? Just wondering... --ZestyCactus 01:27, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Well, Chuang Yi doesn't try creating their own titles anymore, do they? Ataro (talk) 02:05, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
? so it's from Chuang Yi? I thought they were only on the Platinum chapter :S --ZestyCactus 21:08, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
I was talking about how they just keep the standard "VS X" instead of trying to come up with their own titles. Ataro (talk) 21:16, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Okay, that's fine. Just so you know I will be moving the VIZ Media round titles back to the top alongside the "VS. Whatever" titles, since they are from the official English version I would prefer them at the top rather than a trivia line. Let me know if there's any problems, thanks. --ZestyCactus 22:33, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
Well, saying that they're from the VIZ Media translation implies that they used those titles for the volume 43 version, even though they haven't translated that version yet. Wouldn't it make more sense to alter the text so that it says something like "Pokémon Black and White volume 1 version"? Ataro (talk) 22:45, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
tbh that isn't the assumption i would have come to, though i do understand your point now. my concern is that volume 43 being released doesn't suddenly erase the mini-volumes. i'm getting so frustrated trying to make sense of all this u__u first of all, what do you know about this one? is it a volume-sized compilation of the mini-volumes or do you think it's a translation of volume 43? that's another reason i'm hesistant, but no matter what, Chuang Yi is eventually going to get to volume 43 anyway and whatever else and there are differences between the Japanese volume versions and the Japanese magazine versions and and and *brain shorts out* long story short, I'd be comfortable with "Pokémon Black and White volume 1 version" for now since that seems like the middle ground. :P --ZestyCactus 23:13, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
By the way, read over this and let me know if I missed anything. --ZestyCactus 23:21, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

DP185

The image I uploaded for DP185 is not blurry, meets the 4x3 ratio, and is a lot less awkward. Why did you revert it? the great MIKORO (talk to me) 15:20, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

I fail to see how the image is better. 1) The scene looked bad. Gible being attacked by a Gyro Ball? That's not very good. 2) Look at image closer, then you'll see that it's even blurrier than the previous image. Ataro (talk) 00:20, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
You would rather have it stay as a little better quality but a more awkward picture than a little worse quality but a less awkward picture? I think Shuckle being bit in the ass is very weird, but Gible facing an incoming attack is a lot less weird. Look, you're an administrator, I'm not. You make the rules. If you really want the picture to stay so awkward, I have no right to argue. However, I just want to make sure you understand that the one I uploaded bypasses the current one in terms of awkwardness by a long shot. the great MIKORO (talk to me) 15:16, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

Pocket Monsters RS Voume six

My sincere thanks to you for uploading a higher quality image after I edited the page and added a Bad Picture banner at my own dismay. I know I shouldn't complain about low quality images on BP, so thank you for uploading the image. PokefanR (talk) 03:49, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

Ash's Buizel

Well he is the only one of Ash's Sinnoh pokemon that currently is a single-type. Turtwig, Grotle, and Chimchar evolved. Also that Buizel itself as a species cannot evolve into a dual-type pokemon. AeroWind (talk) 09:40, 12 March 2013 (UTC)

It doesn't change the fact that he still owned them at one point. Regardless of their current forms, at one point in their lives, they were single-typed. Ataro (talk) 09:45, 12 March 2013 (UTC)

Subheaders

Do Pokémon in Pokémon Adventures deserve such subheaders such as the ones called FireRed & LeafGreen chapter and Yellow chapter in their articles? PattyMan 00:23, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Can you give an example? Ataro (talk) 00:26, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
I saw on Pika's and Saur's pages that they lack the subheaders under the history section whereas Mewtwo and Deoxys have them under the history section. PattyMan 00:32, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
Blasty and Jiggly have the subheaders too. PattyMan 00:39, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
Hmm...In the case of Mewtwo, he should probably have it since his telepathy pretty much makes him a "unique" character in his own right, but I think it'd be best to just remove them all. Ataro (talk) 00:50, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Shrug. I'll talk about it later. Also, no. We always list how many of x Pokemon appear in whatever episode, chapter, movie, etc... Ataro (talk) 18:34, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
Totally different cases. How to identify those five are all related to Genesect Army? Sorry, I could argue that one from Genesect Army and four from unknown places, if I am that so harsh. KyleRGiggs 17:43, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

PMD4 Dungeon List

Please explain why you undid the list I made on that page? I think that the list adds nicely to the page and might be helpful to some people. Prevalent use of unaccented e's

Sorry about not talking to you about this earlier, I was preoccupied when trying to regain my userspace rights and upload images on the archives. But now that I have some time, I have noticed that you have not been using accented e's when spelling things like Pokémon or Pokéball. It is clearly stated that spelling "Pokémon" or anything else that has one or more accented e's with unaccented e's is against the rules. I have warned you about this before but you did not listen. In the future, please remember to use accented e's. Thanks. the great MIKORO (talk to me) 14:02, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

...Excuse me? Ataro (talk) 20:13, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
You do not use accented e's when spelling things like Pokémon or Pokéball. Here's an example. When you reverted the image I uploaded for Stephan's Sawk, you spelled "Pokemon" instead of "Pokémon". Anything that has the "Poké" prefix must be spelled with an accented e (é). the great MIKORO (talk to me) 22:29, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
Uh, no. That only applies to editing in articles. In casual conversation—like on talk pages or edit messages—there's nothing wrong with it. Ataro (talk) 22:35, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
What? Where does it say that? I haven't seen anything that says that. the great MIKORO (talk to me) 11:03, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

BW121 image

I don't want to change the image and possibly step on someone's toes, so I'll ask here: what do you think of

this image

for BW121's image? It has Ghetsis in it, so it still meets the standard set by the current image's initial uploader, but it actually shows the ceremony itself as well. --The Great Butler (talk) 03:28, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

I was actually considering doing that one, too, but I felt the other one felt more epic fitting an Episode N finale. Plus, we can use the other image somewhere else (once it's in png format, that is). Ataro (talk) 04:19, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

Original and Japanese?

I've been working in creating redirects for the Manga chapters of Pokémon Adventures and I've been using the list of rounds to do so. But in the HGSS Chapter list says that the round PS444, who is called "VS Togepi" in the original, is called "VS Dragonite" and several others since Platinum chapter have these Japanese-Original titles even though that japanese are original. But my real doubt is: Should I make redirects for both titles or just the japanese ones that are the same for english?--Igor (talk) 16:51, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

May I ask why the references to the global link and PK25 were edited out by you? Thanks. Raykyogrou0 (Talk) 01:55, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Because there's nothing really indicating it's a Global Link reference. To me, it's clearly to show that they're messaging each other despite being so far away. And what makes you think it's a scene from PK25? Yes, it's a clear reference to it, but not a scene. Ataro (talk) 02:18, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
The fact that it's similar to the background on the global link website? And I never said it was a scene from PK25, it's a still image about PK25. Raykyogrou0 (Talk) 09:55, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

I'm sorry if this isn't the place to put this, I don't have much experience editing wiki's and saw that you're an admin. But awhile ago I made a user pageuser:rhytwo for an old account of mine. The problem is I was 10 when I made it and included my real name. So now when you look my name up on google this page, which I find embarrasing shows up and I can't remember the email address I used or the password. If you need proof of who I am. Question regarding merchandise articles

I had been planning to make an article concerning Bandai's D-Arts line of highly-articulated Pokémon collectibles, which would require the uploading of images. Will my account work on the Archives, or do I need to make a separate account? Also, as I am a stickler for image sourcing and licensing, what is the image policy regarding the upload of promotional images? Is there a sourcing template? If not, I intend to list the source of any image I upload in some fashion similar to what I am used to on Wookieepedia, and I would like to know if such sourcing is permissible.

Also, when adding citations and references to articles, as I had not been able to find an example, do you use the Template:Tl template? Or do you have a different referencing protocol?

In regards to a product article, I had seen various examples, but they were short and vague, with only a few articles going into any sort of specific product detail. What I intend to cover in the article are details concerning product release and distribution, price range, and some details on the figures themselves, mainly the articulation. As I only own one of the figures, the primary example for most of those details will be the Mewtwo figure. Any details concerning the Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur figures will be gleaned from product descriptions on Amazon, and through my various sources. Is there a specific format for merchandise articles? SnorlaxMonster said that there was not, and most articles that I've seen follow only a basic format of short description, followed by a gallery.

I wish to double-check this before I begin drafting up the article, as I want to make sure that I am doing it correctly. Thanks. Trak Nar (talk) 19:03, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

I know nothing about merchandise. You're gonna have to ask someone else. And yes, your account will work there. Ataro (talk) 19:59, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
Alright, thanks. I'll check the history of those articles and ask someone from there. Good to know that my account will work on the archives, though. I shall hunt down and double-check the image policy in regards to sourcing... Trak Nar (talk) 20:14, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Opinion on something

In my copy of the recent release for Ruby and Sapphire, Ruby's Castform is not given a nickname. One shred of evidence is that during the part between listings it is just listed as Castform. This is shown once in that book. Should the change be made on the page for Ruby's team? If you want to wait until the beginning of September when the next book comes out I am willing to wait until then for more evidence to pop up. -Tyler53841 (talk) 00:44, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I'm aware of that. No. It stays as Popo (we do this for Blasty, who doesn't have a Viz nickname either). They probably didn't put a nickname because it doesn't really make much sense for it to have one because Ruby was last seen unconscious. Ataro (talk) 00:51, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Legendaries being genderless

There are several inconsistencies with labeling the anime Legendary Pokémon's genders as unknown as several articles have them listed as genderless so I think that there should be a discussion if their genders should be officially left as unknown. PattyMan 01:32, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

First, the page gets made in the userspace, then an admin checks the page and moves it to the mainspace after determining that it's good enough. Ataro (talk) 17:51, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

Just curious...

I see you undid my edits regarding a deeper description of the Mega stones. Now here's the thing: did you do that because the in-game description didn't show up, or just because? I'm asking this due to the fact that I actualy wrote the missing parameter, but as I specified after on the talk page, it didn't show up because of the fact that the template is outdated, while asking the staff to update it. So, is it the first option? Or are we done for now? TheOriginalOne 22:15, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

I did it because the games aren't out yet, and it'd be better to wait until they come out. There's not that much info on the Mega Stones right now for it to be needed. Once more info is available, it'll be added back. Ataro (talk) 23:06, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
