Science Club

The Science Club (Japanese: サイエンスクラブ Science Club) is a group of Trainers who use Grass-type Pokémon in the Template:Card GB. It is led by Rick. It appears to be the male counterpart of the Grass Club, because the Science Club has only men and the Grass Club has only women; both clubs use Grass-type cards.

Main room

It is likely that the Science Club was created due to the fact that, at the time of the game's release, there were only seven TCG types— one short of the eight that were needed for a game that was like the main series Pokémon games, and, due to the additional double usage of the Fighting-type by both the Fighting Club and Rock Club, the hesitance to use Colorless as a club type.

It should also be noted that even though most of their cards are of the Grass-type-type from the TCG, most of the Pokémon they use are of the Poison type in the main games.

Like most of the other Clubs, Rick may only be battled after all of the other Club members have been beaten. Players who are able to beat Rick will receive the Science Medal and two booster packs.
