Biology
Biology
Physiology
Blaziken is a bipedal, chicken-like Pokémon. The majority of Blaziken's body is red with accents of beige, yellow, and gray. Behind its head, there are beige, hair-like feathers that continue downward and surround its chest and abdomen. It has a small red face with a V-shaped crest on its head. Blaziken's blue eyes are semicircular with yellow sclerae, and its mouth is similar to a hooked beak. It has featherless, gray hands with three fingers each, and three clawed toes that are not normally visible due to the shaggy, yellow feathers on the bottom of its legs. A female has a shorter mask and hair than a male.
Blaziken is mostly red in coloration, with accentuations of beige, yellow, and gray. Blaziken appears to have long, beige-colored, hairlike feathers extending behind its head, continuing downward to envelop some of its chest and abdomen. Blaziken’s small, red-colored face is almost completely covered in feathers. It has a crest on its head with two points, which resembles the letter "V". Blaziken has three spiky extensions on the sides of its face. Blaziken’s eyes are semicircular in shape, with yellow scleras and blue irises, and Blaziken's mouth is a hooked beak. The continuation of the "hair" from its head on its chest and abdomen makes Blaziken appear as if it's wearing a sleeveless jacket on its torso. Blaziken’s strong, muscular legs give it immense lower body strength, helping its kicking and jumping abilities. Blaziken has three fingers on each hand, resembling that of a normal chicken’s feet, with what appears to be gray-colored wristband-like markings on its wrists. Blaziken has, although rarely seen due to the shaggy feathers on the bottom of its legs, three clawed toes. Blaziken has a tuft of fire above its wrist and in combat with another Pokémon, it burns intensely as it becomes weary or stronger.
Gender differences
A female has shorter "hair" than a male. The V-shape on a female's "mask" is also smaller.

Special abilities
Blaziken has a courageous personality. Blaziken has strong, muscular legs that give it great lower body strength. This lower body strength helps its kicking and jumping abilities. Its jumps are powerful enough to jump over a 30-story building in a single leap. Blaziken's wrists have gray wristband-like markings capable of producing a tuft of fire above them. Blaziken can also make flames spout from its ankles. This allows it to cloak its feet or fists, and it uses these abilities while practicing a form of martial art. Its flames burn more intensely when it faces stronger opponents. The blazing punches of Blaziken can leave its foes scorched and blackened. Every several years, its old feathers burn off, and new, supple feathers grow back in their place. While Blaziken is rarely found in the wild, it is known to inhabit List of Pokémon by habitat.
It can leap over a skyscraper with a single jump. It can make flames spout from its wrists and ankles, cloaking its feet or fists, and practices a form of Martial art with these abilities. The stronger the foe it faces, the more intensely its flames burn. It may also launch a Blaze Kick at the opponent.

Behavior
In Generation III, Blaze Kick was its signature move.
It learns martial arts that use punches and kicks. Every several years, its old feathers burn off, and new, supple feathers grow back in their place.
Forms
Blaziken can Mega Evolve into Mega Blaziken.

Habitat
As Mega Blaziken, it loses its yellow markings and gains black markings on its upper legs and chest. Its hair-like feathers take on a wing-like shape and point upward, and the portion around its chest is rough around its shoulders. The crest on its head changes into a flat horn that curves backward. The fire it creates on its wrists is now longer.

Diet
When Blaziken Mega Evolves into Mega Blaziken, it further hones the power of its kicks, always a source of pride to it. As it unleashes a flurry of savage kicks, its legs can begin to burn from the friction of the surrounding atmosphere. As Mega Blaziken's body temperature increases, its power and speed continue to ramp up.

Blaziken appears as a trophy.
Trophy information
"A Blaze Pokémon. When up against a tough opponent, it fights a spirited battle and shoots white-hot flames from its wrists. The stronger the foe, the more intense the flames from its wrists. Blaziken also uses a combination of punches and kicks to leave targets in scorched ruin, and its strong legs allow it to easily leap over 30-story buildings."

Blaziken appears in the background of the Kalos Pokémon League stage when the stage is in the Pokémon League (Kalos). It appears in the Blazing Chamber along with other Fire Pokémon, namely Infernape, Tepig, and Pyroar. There are trophies of both Blaziken and Mega Blaziken.

Trophy information
Blaziken
NA: Blaziken would be the perfect star for an intense, action-packed movie. Its fiery fists pack a serious punch, and it has no problem leaping over 30-story buildings. We'd save so much on the special effects! All we need is a good name... How about Fired Up! Better yet, Fired Up 3! That way it sounds like it's already a popular series!

PAL: We should make an action film starring Blaziken. With its fiery fists and ability to spring over 30-storey buildings effortlessly, we'd save a ton of money on CGI! Let's call it... Red Renegade! Or, better yet, Red Renegade 3 - then people will think it's part of a popular series!

Mega Blaziken
NA: If you find yourself in possession of a Blazikenite, you can use it to Mega Evolve Blaziken into Mega Blaziken. This Pokémon is clearly ready for a fight. This Mega Evolution has polished its attacks and is awaiting a worthy opponent. The Blaze Kick it can unleash will leave its foes charred. Mega Blaziken has what it takes to become a fighting champ!

PAL: If you're lucky enough to get your hands on a rare Blazikenite stone, your Blaziken can Mega Evolve into this magnificent Pokémon. Ablaze with fighting spirit, Mega Blaziken has honed its skills to the highest possible degree. With its Blaze Kick, it can deliver a fierce impact that will leave opponents charred!

* Blaziken is the only fully evolved first partner Pokémon in the core series to Core series.
* depicts an unused Pokémon with the traits of both Blaziken and Latias. Likewise, Mega Blaziken's ears appear similar to those in a pre-alpha sketch of Torchic.
* Mega Blaziken is the only Mega Evolution officially introduced in X and Y that is not native to Kalos.
* Blaziken was designed by Ken Sugimori, and is among the first Hoenn Pokémon to be designed.

* Blaziken is the lightest final form of a starter Pokémon, weighing 114.6 pounds (52.0 kilograms).
Origin
* Blaziken is the third Generation III Pokémon to appear in anime episodes (the first was Kecleon; the second, Wynaut) and one of the very few Generation III Pokémon to appear before the first episode of Advanced Generation. It is also the only starter Pokémon from the main series to appear in the anime before its generation saga began.
Blaziken is probably based on a cockfighting chicken, specifically the Japanese Shamo chickens breed known for its mane and upright posture. The feathery legs resemble those of a Cochin chicken. It bears resemblance to Horus and Ra, two anthropomorphic ancient Egyptian deities with falcon heads. Blaziken may also be based on the Basan (legendary bird), a legendary fire-breathing chicken of Japanese folklore, or possibly the karura. It is somewhat based on the mythical Phoenix (mythology), as its feathers burn off every few years. It may also draw inspiration from the 天狗火#松明丸, creatures that resembled raptors or tengu and trailed flames.
* Blaziken can learn Brave Bird despite not being a Flying, due to being based on a chicken.
* Despite being based on a bird, because of its type, Blaziken is weak against Flying moves. It shares this trait with its pre-evolved form Combusken.
* A pre-alpha sketch depicts an unused Pokémon with the traits of both a Blaziken and a Latias.
* Blaziken is the only fully evolved Hoenn starter to appear in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure.
* Blaziken is the only fully evolved Fire-type starter Pokémon not to have a flame on its body or head.
** However, it can release flames from its wrists.

Origin
Its Fighting type and human-like body type may draw inspiration from Muay Thai fighters, since Blaziken's official artwork depicts a typical Knee (strike)#Flying and Mega Blaziken's stance portrays a Muay Thai#Defenses in practice.
Blaziken is probably based on a cockfighting chicken. It bears resemblance to Horus and Ra, two Ancient Egyptian deities with hawk faces. Blaziken may also be based on the basan, a fire-breathing chicken, or possibly the Karura. It is somewhat based on the Phoenix (mythology), a mythical bird of fire.

Blaziken (Japanese: バシャーモ Bursyamo) is a dual-type Fire/Fighting Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

It evolves from Combusken starting at level 36. It is the final form of Torchic.

Blaziken can Mega Evolve into Mega Blaziken using the Blazikenite.

Biology

While Blaziken is rarely found in the wild, it is known to inhabit grasslands.

In Generation III, Blaze Kick was its signature move.

Forms

Blaziken can Mega Evolve into Mega Blaziken.

When Blaziken Mega Evolves into Mega Blaziken, it further hones the power of its kicks, always a source of pride to it. As it unleashes a flurry of savage kicks, its legs can begin to burn from the friction of the surrounding atmosphere. As Mega Blaziken's body temperature increases, its power and speed continue to ramp up.[1]

Blaziken in Pokkén Tournament

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Blaziken appears in the background of the Kalos Pokémon League stage when the stage is in the Blazing Chamber. It appears in the Blazing Chamber along with other Fire-type Pokémon, namely Infernape, Tepig, and Pyroar.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Blaziken returns as a background character in the Kalos Pokémon League stage. It also appears as a Spirit.

Trivia

Pre-alpha sketch of Torchic

Origin

Blaziken is probably based on a cockfighting chicken, specifically the Japanese Shamo chicken breed known for its mane and upright posture. The feathery legs resemble those of a Cochin chicken. It bears resemblance to Horus and Ra, two anthropomorphic ancient Egyptian deities with falcon heads. Blaziken may also be based on the basan, a legendary fire-breathing chicken of Japanese folklore, or possibly the karura. It is somewhat based on the mythical phoenix, as its feathers burn off every few years. It may also draw inspiration from the taimatsu-maru, creatures that resembled raptors or tengu and trailed flames.

Its Fighting type and human-like body type may draw inspiration from Muay Thai fighters, since Blaziken's official artwork depicts a typical flying knee and Mega Blaziken's stance portrays a check.

Name origin

Blaziken is a combination of blaze and chicken.

Bursyamo may be a combination of burn or burst and 軍鶏 shamo, a breed of Japanese chicken once raised for fighting.
