Release information

This card was included as both a Regular card and a Full Art card in the Sun & Moon expansion, first released in the Japanese Collection Moon. The Regular print features artwork by Ken Sugimori, while the Full Art print features artwork by Megumi Mizutani. The Regular print was later included in the Japanese Sun & Moon Starter Set, Premium Trainer Box and the Tapu Bulu-GX Enhanced Starter Set. It was reprinted again as one of the Japanese SM-P Promotional cards with new artwork by Megumi Mizutani, made available in the Lillie & Cosmog Special Box on June 17, 2017.

The Sun & Moon Regular print was later included in the English Shining Legends expansion and the Japanese Shining Legends subset, and again as another SM-P Promotional card. The promotional print was given to participants of the Battle Corner held at each chosen School Festa 2017 venue across Japan between October 1 and November 30, 2017. Representatives from Pokémon circles in schools and universities were required to register their interest in hosting an event during the application period, which ran from July 7 until September 15, 2017. If selected, The Pokémon Company would supply the circle with all paraphernalia to host the event. This print has the School Festa 2017 logo in the bottom right corner of the illustration.

It was reprinted as both a Regular card and a Full Art card with new artwork in the Ultra Prism expansion, first released in the Japanese GX Battle Boost subset. The Regular print features artwork by Sanosuke Sakuma, while the Full Art print features artwork by Naoki Saito. In Japan, the Sun & Moon Regular print was reprinted in the Solgaleo-GX & Lunala-GX Legendary Starter Set, Ultra Sun expansion, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Premium Trainer Box, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Deck Build Boxes, and Forbidden Light expansion. Non Holofoil versions of the Ultra Prism Regular print were reprinted in the Japanese Sky-Splitting Charisma and Super-Burst Impact expansions, in each of the Eevee-GX Starter Sets, in the Tag Team GX Premium Trainer Box, in both Trainer Battle Decks, as well as in both Tag Team GX Starter Sets, previously available in Japan as a Mirror Holofoil card in the GX Battle Boost subset. The Sun & Moon Regular print was reprinted in each of the Japanese GX Starter Decks and the Tag Team GX Deck Build Box. A new print with different artwork by Mana Ibe was released as a Yellow A Alternate card and was awarded to participants of Regional Championships held during the Unified Minds Season (August-October 2019). This print originated from the Japanese Sky Legend subset.

A Full Art SM-P Promotional card with new artwork once again by Naoki Saito was available in special packs given out at Extra Battle Day events, held at participating stores across Japan during October and November 2019. Tournaments held as part of these events utilized the Extra Regulation format (equivalent to the Expanded format outside Japan), commemorating the release of the Extra Regulation Box on October 4, 2019. Depending on the venue and places available, people could either register on the day of an event or could enter a lottery via the Players Club website to reserve their place. The application period for events held in October was open between September 17 and 24, 2019, with results announced on September 27, 2019. The application period for events held in November was open between October 11 and 18, 2019, with results announced on October 25, 2019. Each tournament comprised 3 rounds of Swiss between groups of up to 8 people depending on attendance. The ranking of players following the conclusion of the tournament was determined as follows:

  1. Number of match wins;
  2. Difference between number of Prize cards taken and number of Prize cards taken by an opponent over 3 matches;
  3. Number of Prize cards taken over 3 matches;
  4. Head-to-head record;
  5. Rock–paper–scissors.

The overall winner of a tournament was given a promotional pack containing 1 of 3 random Full Art cards. Losing participants as a result of rock–paper–scissors were also given a pack as a consolation prize.
