The third set in the Pokémon Ga-Olé Grand Rush series was released on November 28, 2019. It features 68 standard disks and two secret disks. It is the eighteenth set overall.
Information
The third Grand Rush set continued to feature high-grade Pokémon with the Double Rush and Combo Rush abilities. Supporting the Double Rush mechanic in this set were the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram and Zekrom, which could be encountered on the serial flagship courses, as well as later additions Darkrai, Regigigas, and Rayquaza. Rayquaza also has the ability to Mega Evolve and elevate its Energy value above 5000, a first for the series. A handful of courses began to feature an Ultra Beast Appears! icon on the course selection menu starting January 9, 2020, indicating players had a chance of encountering Ultra Beasts Celesteela and Kartana during play. Both appear as Grade 5 Pokémon with the Double Rush ability.
Supporting the Combo Rush mechanic in this set were the final Evolutions of the Johto first partner Pokémon Meganium, Typhlosion, and Feraligatr, and forces of nature Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus in both their Incarnate and Therian Formes. Each Pokémon within these groups of three can Combo Rush with one another, though the Incarnate Formes of the Forces of Nature cannot Combo Rush with the Therian Formes. Eeveelutions Leafeon and Glaceon can also Combo Rush with each other. A selection of Generation IV, V, and VI Pokémon also made their Pokémon Ga-Olé debut in this set.
Trainer and Battle Mode was available to challenge from January 9, 2020 and provided five new opponents for players to battle. The lineup included two new Trainers classes and a new Battle Leader, Ibure, who could be challenged upon defeating the other four Trainers. Promotional Dialga or Palkia could be dispensed for an additional ¥100 following a battle with Ibure, with 'WINNER' versions available to those who successfully defeated his team. Dialga and Palkia are also able to Combo Rush with each another.
Dusknoir and Walrein were added as Support Pokémon from this set. Players registering a Ga-Olé Pass for the first time would automatically receive Dusknoir as a Support Pokémon as part of the Pokémon Ga-Olé Welcome Campaign.
