The game was announced worldwide on Pokémon Day on February 27, 2022, at 11 P.M. JST via Pokémon Presents.

Features

The game is an open-world game in which areas are seamlessly connected. The areas in the game can be visited in any order. The game also features multiplayer with up to four players simultaneously, enabling trading and battling between players as well as allowing them to travel through the game's areas together.[1]

Characters in the game include the rival Nemona and the Pokémon Professor. The two versions of the game feature different professors, with Professor Sada appearing in Pokémon Scarlet and Professor Turo appearing in Pokémon Violet. The color of the player character's clothing also differs between the two versions. The game will include three major storylines, including a traditional Gym Challenge. Information on the other two stories is unknown.
