GrassWhistle (Japanese: くさぶえ Grass Flute) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation III, where it was a signature move of Roselia.

Effect

GrassWhistle puts the target to sleep. It will not affect a target that already has a major status ailment, a Substitute, or Insomnia, Vital Spirit, or Soundproof as their ability.

Trivia

  • In Generation III, Roselia is the only Pokémon that is able to learn this move via leveling up. Thus, other Pokémon who learn it via breeding must have Roselia as a father.
  • Despite several of Nuzleaf's Pokédex entries saying that it uses the leaf on its head as a flute, Nuzleaf cannot legitimately learn this move.
