Liko's Sprigatito (Japanese: リコのニャオハ Liko's Nyahoja) was the first Pokémon that Liko obtained at the beginning of her journey, given to her in the Indigo Academy.
In the anime
History
Sprigatito first appeared in HZ001, when Liko picked it as her starter Pokémon whilst a student at the Indigo Academy. Sprigatito and Liko didn't get along at first and when Liko used Sprigatito in a battle against Ann and her Oshawott, Sprigatito's failure to follow instructions resulted in it being hit by a Water Gun. The battle ended with the match being called off. Liko worked hard to bond with Sprigatito but found herself having to run away from the Academy when the Explorers approached her, wanting her pendant.
Sprigatito wasn't able to do much damage to Rhydon but was able to blind it with Leafage before putting it to sleep, allowing it and Liko to escape.
After being rescued by Friede, they were taken aboard his airship with the other members of the Rising Volt Tacklers but were soon attacked by Amethio. Liko was about to give herself up, but Sprigatito got in the way, and ended up being held hostage by the Explorers as they left the ship.
Personality and characteristics
Sprigatito has shown to be brave, confident, and headstrong. However, unlike its species, Sprigatito is neither the affectionate type nor an attention seeker. Despite its coldness towards its Trainer and those around it, Sprigatito does care about Liko and is shown to be tolerant of her affections. It's shown to be able to make new friends easily and likes to have fun.
