Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Blueapple128!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • Read over the style primer before making your edits. It is a basic outline of Bulbapedia style. For a more in-depth set of rules, see the manual of style.
  • Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Blueapple128/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
  • All users are allowed to edit the userspace 3 times a day. If you edit more than 3 times, you may be subjected to a warning. If you ignore the warning, you will be given three chances to comply. If you do not comply, your ability to modify the userspace will be revoked for a period of time.
  • Unless prior permission is given, no user is permitted to edit another user's page. Furthermore, edits to other users' pages are permitted only if there are problems that spread to other parts of Bulbapedia, such as broken links that appear on the wanted pages, switching out duplicate images that appear on the Archives, etc.
  • Fan fictions, missions, riddles, games, and anything else deemed not suitable for the wiki will not be allowed. If you would like to add something, but do not know if it is acceptable, ask an administrator.
  • A list of administrators that you can contact in case of a problem can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! --ニョロトノ666 20:23, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Talk Page Comments

Please don't erase talk page comments for no reason. Trust me, you do NOT want to end up like Big Johnno, who got into an edit war with a sysop over comments the former had erased and was trying to keep erased. That user ended up blocked and subsequently had every erased comment restored. --PsychicRider 21:01, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Thanks! --Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 03:17, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Mea culpa (Honey)

To answer your edit summary, the removal happened on accident when I originally tried to clean up the article (and in the edit after that when I pared down the encounter table); apparently I didn't realize that the Group A/B (or Set 1/2) chances were backwards between non- and Munchlax trees and I read them as the same for both. My bad. Tiddlywinks (talk) 09:26, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

Fusion moves

The animation also changes in G6. I posted the information on the talk page of person who assumed it's B2W2 only but I forgot to change the article. Eridanus (talk) 18:56, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

Header template display

I'm not able to replicate these issues you're reporting with header templates. What browser/OS are you using that is causing this? --SnorlaxMonster 21:08, 21 February 2016 (UTC)

Very weird - the diff pages themselves (viewing an old revision of the page) do not cause the display issues I reported. But if I go to edit the page (prompting the "you are editing an out-of-date revision" warning) and then hit Show preview, the display issue comes right back. I'm using Firefox on Windows 7. Blueapple128 (talk) 21:18, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
Update: Also tested on Chrome (both mobile device (Android) and PC). The display issue does not appear there. It only appears on Firefox. Blueapple128 (talk) 21:24, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
I just tried previewing both of the linked pages in Firefox in Windows 7, and they look fine (I had no issues at first, nor after updating to the latest version). Maybe it's some kind of extension that causing the issue? Try seeing if you can replicate this in private browsing on the same computer (since that disables most extensions). --SnorlaxMonster 21:57, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
Figured it out - it was AdBlock of all things that was causing it (I have a lot of custom filters installed). Disabling it on Bulbapedia fixed it. Looks like it is just my end then. Should I revert both edits? Blueapple128 (talk) 22:21, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
Nah, I've already made some changes to the first one, and the second one was fine (putting {{Unknown name}} above {{Incomplete}} makes more sense to me, but we don't have any official order to put the notice templates in anyway). --SnorlaxMonster 22:34, 21 February 2016 (UTC)

Protection moves

Would you like to try creating a "Protection move" page in your user space? If Protect/Endure/Wide Guard/etc have such wide commonalities, being able to use a {{main}} link would be much better than this sort of thing.

Critical hits in the first battle

Hey, I noticed in the comments of this video, you mentioned that critical hits are disabled in the first battle of the game in RSE. Do you know if this applies to other games? (It seems it doesn't apply in B2W2.) This would be interesting to note on the critical hit page. I imagine this is the kind of thing the TAS community is more familiar with than I am. --SnorlaxMonster 07:24, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Generation VII trivium dispute

To avoid an edit war, I have gone to the talk page of Generation VII. I'd appreciate your comments there. Thanks. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 18:19, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

HOME Pikachu ref

You added this video as a reference about a bug with the HOME Pikachu. I can't tell what that video shows about the bug. Can you explain what it's supposed to demonstrate? Tiddlywinks (talk) 18:18, 10 December 2022 (UTC)

It shows that the bug was fixed by May 18, 2022 (or earlier). Blueapple128 (talk) 19:46, 10 December 2022 (UTC)
That video doesn't show his Pikachu or his HOME boxes at all. It's probably supposed to be this one which was uploaded on the same day.--MisterE13 19:49, 10 December 2022 (UTC)
