"Seasons will change every month in real time. "

This should be clarified. I don't think we have 12 seasons. →ΑΧΧΟΝΝfire 01:47, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Daytime begins and lasts an hour longer?

Wait, so, 3:00 AM is Morning, and it lasts until 10:00 AM, and then it's Day until 9:00 PM? TTEchidna 16:39, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Maybe it depends on the season! That'd be awesome, someone should verify. --AndyPKMN 19:39, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
That's what it said here. But I personally don't know, I haven't explored the game as much as some. TTEchidna 19:52, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Time Jumping?

Has anyone tested if changing the internal Nintendo DS clock will work for this method? I really think that it's worth mentioning in this page. –MasterKenobi 19:59, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

I believe Serebii mentioned that he tested it but nothing changed. Don't quote me on that. --HoennMaster 01:30, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
I tried changing the DS clock, the season remains the same, however. Jellotalk 01:33, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
The season remains the same until you go into and out of an indoors area. Unlike the morning/day/night changes, it doesn't snap instantly. Probably because that'd be a lame transition at midnight of the last day of the month. TTEchidna 05:44, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
Not to mention the possibility of being stuck in a winter exclusive area for three months. I have also been able to change both seasons and time on my copy to confirm my suspicion on nights being longer in winter. —BlackySully 00:53, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
So it IS possible to get stuck in a winter only area, I imagined that game freak would have thought of that and made some of those one way ledges to get down.--Celibi25 23:54, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
You might want to read the last couple of comments again. . . Werdnae (talk) 00:32, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

List

We may need a list of pokemon that changes encounter rate etc. Anyone? - unsigned comment from Icy (talkcontribs)

I'd say it's based on locations - therefore, it'll be listed there. After all, we don't list all diurnal Pokémon on the time page. TTEchidna 21:02, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

Tomorrow?

Mine's changed today, and considering it's Feb, I'm pretty sure it's changed for everyone. Smashman 11:01, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, the seasons change every month. Why are you bringing this up? --SnorlaxMonster 11:04, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Well the page still said tomorrow, perhaps I was getting a cached version. I've changed it to use {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} as that appears to have fixed it for me. – Smashman (talk) 11:07, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Morning/Day

So when does Morning end and Day start? It's not covered here or on Time. Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 21:59, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

Manual Season Changes

Would it be okay to put something about how if you change the Nintendo DS's Month, that you can change the game to whichever season you want it to be? 태권도 합기도 13:45, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

Casteliacones available during winter in BW2

I have found in BW2 that Casteliacones can be bought in Winter as well. Should the mention of BW2 be removed from the entries on Casteliacones? If so, should it be noted somewhere that the season doesn't matter in BW2? Or should something be added to winter to indicate that the cones can be bought then? - unsigned comment from Thomas0comer (talkcontribs)

I've added a template symbol next to the line showing it only applies in Black and White. --Pokemaster97 22:59, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Spring?

I am fairly sure March 4-10 is still winter, both according to calendar and astronomically. Marked +-+-+ (talk) 13:49, 9 July 2013 (UTC) PS. Unless of course, once again, America does stuff other way than Europe... Marked +-+-+ (talk) 13:53, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

It is indeed part Winter and Spring. However, a lot of people general consider it Spring overall. Same with June being Summer, September being fall, and December being Winter. --HoennMaster 15:48, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Title

I don't think it's good to have season and seasons lead to different pages. We normally give pages singular titles; the only reason this page has a plural title is to distinguish it from the anime seasons.

I think anime seasons are the more likely intended target of a search for season. So while it would certainly be easier to title a page "Season (anime)", I think we should instead give this page a parenthetical disambiguation. My suggestion is "Season (time)", but I'm open to better titles if other people have suggestions. --SnorlaxMonster 03:50, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

What about "Season" and "Anime season"?--KnightGalarie (talk) 03:55, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
As I mentioned, I think people searching season are more likely to want the page about anime seasons, so I don't think that page should be moved. Also, I think "Season (anime)" would be a better title if we were to move it anyway. --SnorlaxMonster 05:17, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
As long as it's "Season" and "Season (anime)" I’m fine. I just think "Season (time)” is just awkward--KnightGalarie (talk) 21:05, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
Well I imagine the idea is to have Season redirect to anime with a hatnote for the Seasons page whatever title it may end up being at. --Spriteit (talk) 08:39, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
I think Season (mechanic) is a decent possibility. Nescientist (talk) 15:07, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
I second Season (mechanic) or something along those lines. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 00:52, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
Are we giving both paths disambiguating parentheticals and the plain name would be turned into a disambiguation page? I feel like it’s unclear--KnightGalarie (talk) 00:54, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
I'd prefer making Season a disambiguation page. Mr. Daikon (talk) 00:56, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
It's also worth noting that more pages link to "Seasons" than to "Season". Mr. Daikon (talk) 00:59, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
That’s totally fine. I’m guessing "Anime season" isn’t falling into favor? I feel that works more than Season (anime)--KnightGalarie (talk) 01:04, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
I think that the majority of users searching "season" are looking for anime seasons. So I'd rather leave that page where it is, but move this one. I'm happy with "Season (mechanic)", although it does make it more difficult to cover seasons that occur in the anime/manga/etc. (not that they currently are anyway). --SnorlaxMonster 06:14, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
I don’t have experience knowing, but my guess is that the manga, any manga, would be better at acknowledging seasons better than the anime. I guess outside the Summer Academy and Summer Camp. I could swear a few of the festivals were season-specific too. Didn’t "The Ghost of Maiden's Peak" have Brock lament he “wasted” his summer, at least in the English dub? I would totally shift my vote away from a medium-specific parenthetical if we could blow up the article by expanding the scope--KnightGalarie (talk) 07:27, 17 June 2020 (UTC)

(resetting indent)Passing mentions of this or that season are pointless. If anything, there'd have to be a strong cultural custom or something around a season to be notable--maybe. Tiddlywinks (talk) 10:28, 17 June 2020 (UTC)

Similarly to what Tiddlywinks said above, I do not think grasping for content straws other areas of the franchise (anime, manga, etc.) is worth it if the content just isn't there. I am leaning towards just disambiguating this page with Season (mechanic), as I feel that SnorlaxMonster's assessment is correct that people would be looking for the seasons involving the anime and so I'm not sure if landing on a disambiguation page would be the best instead of having a direct page to land on. --Pokemaster97 23:51, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, I think it's fair that there's not much point covering real-world seasons except as a game mechanic. I have no objections to the title "Season (mechanic)". --SnorlaxMonster 10:20, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Move (again)

As discussed here, this article should be moved to Season (game mechanic) to be consistent with Memory (game mechanic) and Mystery Dungeon game mechanics. Landfish7 01:02, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
