Flower Gift (Japanese: フラワーギフト Flower Gift) is an Ability introduced in Generation IV. It is the signature Ability of Cherrim.

Effect

In battle

Generation IV

During harsh sunlight, Flower Gift increases the Attack and Special Defense stats of the Pokémon with this Ability and its allies by 1.5×.

Flower Gift is not responsible for changing Cherrim from Overcast Form into Sunshine Form.

Flower Gift can be copied by Trace or Role Play.

Generation V onward

This Ability effect may be in need of research.
Reason: If a Pokémon holds a Utility Umbrella, is it unaffected by its ally's Flower Gift?
You can discuss this on the talk page.

Along with its previous effect, Flower Gift now changes Cherrim from Overcast Form to Sunshine Form during harsh sunlight. If Cherrim loses Flower Gift or Flower Gift is suppressed (such as by Gastro Acid), it will revert to its Overcast Form, unless it was Dynamaxed at the time; if a Dynamaxed Sunshine Form Cherrim loses Flower Gift, it will remain in Sunshine Form even after it ceases to be Dynamaxed.

Role Play fails if the target has the Ability Flower Gift. Entrainment fails if the user has the Ability Flower Gift. Flower Gift cannot be copied by Trace, Power of Alchemy, Receiver or Wandering Spirit.

Outside of battle

Flower Gift has no effect outside of battle.
