Hey

Great work with working on the anime pages, was wondering if you could take a look at a few of mine that could be mainspaced. User:BigDocFan/Toucannon's flock (anime), Mimikins, Hala's Hariyama, Hala's Crabominable, Matori's Meowth and Professor Kukui's Braviary if you get time--BigDocFan (talk) 12:34, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

Not a problem, I'll take a look now. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 23:30, 9 April 2019 (UTC)
There are some pages that I feel need to wait for more to occur in the series, like Mimikins or Hala's Crabominable who generally just appear beside their Trainers, and their actions and appearances to date can simply be summarized on their respective Trainer's pages. Aside from that, the pages are looking great. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 00:39, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for your help, doesn't hurt to create the pages, hoping that future appearances will be important to warrant a page of their own. Did you have a look at User:BigDocFan/List of Bewear rescues?--BigDocFan (talk) 08:08, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
Yes I've noticed it for quite sometime. It is a running gag, and I saw that someone was working on a Team Rocket's blastoffs page, so hopefully these can get up and running. I can add to these pages from now on, given that I tend to write many of the latest plots?
Also I was thinking that Mohn and Lusamine might need separate anime pages, especially with much of the stuff revealed in SM116 being background info. I'd recently added pre-series sections to their "in the anime" sections, but these were just deleted by GrammarFreak01 without any notice or explanation. I haven't seen pre-series subsections for other in-game character pages like Gym Leaders or Elite Four members, even if a past event is mentioned, so I'm guessing this might be the reason for that action. Even so, many of Sun and Moon's anime characters, including those based on the games, have appeared more frequently and with greater depth than many past series.
I'd leave the Island kahunas, Burnet, Faba and Wicke out at the moment, even though they have appeared in more than three episodes because I feel they would probably need another 2-3 major plot features to justify a separate anime page. Your thoughts?PardescanSlowbro (talk) 08:45, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
Not my page but we have a work in progress for Lusamine, User:Riox-Ibui/Lusamine (anime) - unsigned comment from BigDocFan (talkcontribs)
At least that one is covered. Thank for the link to that page, I wasn't aware of that user or any of their created pages. We really need a directory of all of these works in progress to be able to keep a tab on what is being done and by who.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 09:33, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
"I haven't seen pre-series subsections for other in-game character pages like Gym Leaders or Elite Four members, even if a past event is mentioned, so I'm guessing this might be the reason for that action." Yes, pretty much. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 20:40, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the confirmation GrammarFreak01. As you are already aware I have added a pre-series subsection to Riox-Ibui's Lusamine (anime) page, and I will begin a Mohn (anime) page soon. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 23:23, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
I'm not sure if a Mohn (anime) article is needed, seeing as he's appeared in flashbacks so far. Outside of that, Cynthia and Looker, for example, have appeared in multiple episodes of two different series and they don't have separate articles for their anime incarnations. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 00:04, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
Good ideas there. I'll review Cynthia and Looker's respective anime appearances sometime soon, and hopefully get a start on those new pages. Thanks.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 00:39, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
Maybe you should discuss those ideas with an admin first. I feel like there was a reason we didn't have those kinds of articles in the first place. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 04:12, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Annice Moriarty origin

Hello Nobody has been able to explain to me, so perhaps you could help me understand this. Where id dpeople get the idea that Annice Moriarty and Kether Donohue were the same person, despite no official confirmation? I am leaving out a whole lot of info I do have on Ann because I don't want my bias to show, given certain factors existing. I mean Candice is listed as being voiced by Kether Donohue in Bulbapedia, but on TV credits no such person is on the episode. Now that's not to say that Donohue didn't work on Pokemon as she likely did if she remembers being on Pokemon doing somebody. However it's poor form for people to assume that Annice Moriarty and Kether Donohue were the same person, especially what happened with the Caren Manuel, Alyson Johnson and Kathleen Delaney thing. What happened there was people thought that Kathleen Delaney and Allyson Johnson were pseudonyms of Caren Manuel/Caren Lyn Tackett. Hence the long-time belief that Manuel voiced Rouge the Bat (4kids dub of all Sonic media during 2003-2010)and Agatha from season 8 of Pokemon. I'm frustrated quite a bit at the lack of explanation as to why it is that people believed Annice Moriarty and Kether Donohue to be the same person. Where did they get this from? I also want to note that just because a belief is long-held does not make it true. Again I do have info on Ann, but I can't prove it yet and Ann doesn't have social media anymore for now, I can't link y'all to her. I'm just asking where did it come from, that Donohue, a Caucasian woman used the name Annice Moriarty?

Annice by the way is pronounced as Ann-nih-say. It is a Malagasy name. I won't say anymore as I do have a slight bias, but I just wish to shine a light on the sources that we get pseudonym information from not just given my sister Ann, but also given the Caren Lyn Manuel/Kathleen Delaney/Allyson Johnson thing. Any help in understanding where this came form and why it was accepted so long with no real proof would be great. This way when I correct it I know what to correct without my bias being in play. thanks. African Vulture (talk) 23:32, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

I'm afraid I don't work in the voice actors space, and won't be able to offer you any insight. A quick search didn't yield any answers either. As said by ForceFire, documented proof from either actress would help confirm your suspicions. BigDocFan may be of assistance? PardescanSlowbro (talk) 23:50, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

BDF hasn't answered me neither, I'm not saying he's unhelpful just that he hasn' tidentified a source. I agree with FF that there needs to be proof. I want to start another discussion with BDF but am affraid it will divert again. It's difficult approaching it without showing my bias, whcih I am doing my best here. That's why I will no longe redit those articles at all, but I will instead push for discussions not just on Ann, but on pseudonym verifications in general. Do you thin that would be a fiar approach? African Vulture (talk) 00:11, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

I'm afraid discussion posts don't get the attention they may deserve. It is best to leave it, as frustrating as that may be, until either you or someone else has new evidence to present to an admin like ForceFire who would be able to verify, and thus allow any changes to go forward.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 00:36, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

It's just strange having my sister's name associated with a Caucasian women, if I may be totally honest. However I am doing my level best to not have that be a factor in the general discussion about pseydonym verification. I hope to be able to expand my knowledge of Pokemon so I can do more than just a one-purpose account thing. My original purpose was to stop this unsourced and untrue claim about Ann, but decided to maybe learn about Pokemon, and maybe help out where Bulbapedia needs help. thanks. African Vulture (talk) 01:10, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

I can understand the racial appropriation argument, as it was present in many of the internet forums regarding this case. Is it possible your sister could make contact with Kether Donohue? If they appeared in a video together to address the controversy, or if the dubbing company was able to confirm details for Bulbapedia, either of those would be a big piece of evidence that would help prove your point. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 01:20, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Ann's going to be fre ein August, I know she's doing some stuff here in Africa right now. She's helping out with Mozambique right now, as they just went through a horrible storm. When Ann is back in NY I hope she will take this suggestion, I will forward it to her. I don't know who to reach out to at duart, nor am I sure if Ann remembers who to reach out to, but we will do our best. I posted on BDF's page about verification of pseudonyms in the future to avoid cases like this. thanks African Vulture (talk) 01:41, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Sorry to use your talk page about this PardescanSlowbro. I have four things to say
1 I've adviced you in the past which you haven't listened to.
2 I'm trying not to get involved.
3 You posted at 00:20 GMT so I was in bed.--BigDocFan (talk) 08:27, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Horacio's Vikavolt

Was wondering if you could give me a hand with User:BigDocFan/Horacio's Vikavolt please?--BigDocFan (talk) 15:40, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

Grandpa Forest

Sorry to keep disturbing you, was wondering if you could assist with User:BigDocFan/Grandpa Forest--BigDocFan (talk) 12:19, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

By the looks of it, the page is looking succinct and requires minimal changes. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 13:19, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
Thanks--BigDocFan (talk) 15:32, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

Melemele Greens

Was wondering if you could expand the Melemele Greens section in the Recurring wild Pokémon in the anime page.--BigDocFan (talk) 08:51, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

After I've watched the two recent episodes I'll be more than able to edit that section. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 23:06, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Totem Pokémon (anime)

Was wondering if you could give me a hand in making User:BigDocFan/Totem Pokémon (anime) ready for possible mainspacing. My plan is to include the Ally Pokémon as well.--BigDocFan (talk) 21:20, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

I'm not sure if the page is required at the moment as many of the Totem and ally Pokémon tend to only appear in one episode, and the currently concise anime coverage serves this purpose well. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 10:00, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
Force Fire felt it wasn't needed so asked for the page to be deleted--BigDocFan (talk) 16:50, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
It's a tough choice to let something go, especially with the time and effort put in. However some of the work you put surely could have a place on the Totem Pokémon page's anime subsection? PardescanSlowbro (talk) 12:54, 12 June 2019 (UTC)

Lillie's Family Mansion

Was wondering if you could give me a hand with User:BigDocFan/Lillie's Family Mansion?--BigDocFan (talk) 16:39, 18 June 2019 (UTC)

It's an interesting idea. However we currently don't even articles for other main characters' homes, even Ash's home is merely cited on the Pallet Town page. I'd ask an admin before going any further with this page. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 12:17, 19 June 2019 (UTC)

Re: Improvement notices

If you have a problem with the cleanup messages I keep putting up because of their vagueness, I suggest bringing it up with an admin for deletion. As far as I'm concerned, they're still appropriate for usage, otherwise they wouldn't be templates by now. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 09:57, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

Masters Animated Trailer

I've created a userspace article on the Pokémon Masters animated trailer that came out today. Right now, I've copy-and-pasted the entire Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Animated Trailer article so it can serve as a guideline on how to construct the article, and I plan to begin the real work later today. But if you so wish, you're free to help me out on that userspace article in any way you can. Your assistance would be very much appreciated. :) GrammarFreak01 (talk) 02:53, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

Hala (SM128)

Was wondering if you could add information to Hala's page regarding his role in SM128--BigDocFan (talk) 11:28, 15 July 2019 (UTC)

I've just added it in, plus the beginnings of a character section. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 11:40, 15 July 2019 (UTC)

Hau's Decidueye/Hau (anime)

Was wondering if you could assist with expanding the Personality and characteristics sections for User:BigDocFan/Hau's Decidueye and User:BigDocFan/Hau (anime) please?--BigDocFan (talk) 16:09, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

I'll have something written once the Manalo Conference has been completed. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 11:49, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
Fair enough, they'll likely have shown more character by then--BigDocFan (talk) 11:53, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
That's right, it'll be a more complete picture. Plus there are other characters recurring characters like Acerola and Molayne who I'll be writing stuff up for as well.
Congratulations on the Toucannon's flock page being mainspaced PardescanSlowbro (talk) 11:56, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
Thanks, its always good when one of my pages becomes mainspaced, hopefully Hau (anime) and Hau's Decidueye will join them--BigDocFan (talk) 12:12, 29 July 2019 (UTC)

Nina

Sorry to add to your work, filling in pages is certainly your area of expertise. Was wondering if you could feel Nina's Character page when you get a chance?--BigDocFan (talk) 16:19, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

I hadn't even considered this one. I will eventually get onto it. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 09:17, 6 August 2019 (UTC)

Mimo

When you get a chance, I was wonder if you could help expand Mimo's character page?--BigDocFan (talk) 13:27, 18 August 2019 (UTC)

Gorochu

This screenshot has been adopted by several sites, can you tell me if it is not a fake Super-mario (talk) 20:35, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

I'm afraid I can't really make a call on that one. As with all of the spaceworld leaks, these are currently being investigated by other members and the admins of Bulbapedia to ensure they are genuine. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 00:02, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
Thanks anyway Super-mario (talk) 07:13, 21 September 2019 (UTC)

Amity Square

We're not here to show off our writing skills. Our language style must be neutral, so there's no need for unnecessary adjectives. You have a tendency of doing that. Also, for some reason, you always have empty spaces at the end of every other paragraph. Care to explain that? GrammarFreak01 (talk) 07:50, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

It is one word and a useless edit on your part. You keep judging my writing as too much, but only you have issues with it.
Microsoft Word, I've tried to delete the spaces, but they don't come up on my view. But as said by myself and the admins it isn't an issue that distorts anything PardescanSlowbro (talk) 07:54, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
Again: we're not here to show off our writing skills. You don't decide what is good English and what isn't here. Also, if you just click your mouse at the end of your sentences, you'll easily find it. It's unnecessary code. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 07:55, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
I'm not "showing off my writing skills", rather I am trying to make it as engaging a read while still being concise.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 07:58, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
"I am trying to make it as engaging a read". That's precisely my point here. We shouldn't do that. Just get the facts across. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:00, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
This is a fan site, meaning it does have to be interesting. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 08:04, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
This is NOT a fan site; it's a wiki. Like Wikipedia, this site's only purpose is to provide the facts about Pokémon. You don't see any Wikipedia articles having flashy language, now do you? GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:05, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
My language isn't flashy. It may not be how you would put things, and that's okay as it still gets the facts across in clear and concise manner. No harm done by the inclusion of adjectives to better explain a concept. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 08:10, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
You're literally the only one who writes this way. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:12, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Cleanup sections

While we're on the above note, the cleanup messages you've been complaining about are extremely useful for other users to know the plot summaries need to be improved on, especially when the original user doesn't have the time to fix everything. Please don't overreact and take it as a slight, PardescanSlowbro. Otherwise, just go to an admin about deleting them. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:21, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Not when users like you are just adding them onto pages. As said to both you and the other user, why not make the changes required.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 08:25, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
Like I said earlier, because there's no time. Plus, there's a reason why these templates exist. How else are users supposed to use them (or similar templates) when you believe all they have to do is make the necessary changes? It'll make their existence pointless, which means there's nothing wrong with using them. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:27, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
You are to leave my talk page and any comments I make on others pages alone, no exceptions, Edit stalker.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 08:29, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
Edit stalking is pretty much how I edit any article, not just ones you've edited. How else am I supposed to find articles to edit? Stop being so offended. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:31, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
Also, I have a right to leave my two cents into that conversation you had with that other user because you raised the exact same complaint with me way back when. It's really silly that you're offended by a simple notification template like that, so I had to comment on it. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:33, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
Not offended, it was just a series of pointless edits. And if the user had no time to make any changes, then why bother at all.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 08:34, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
I see they've also been doing some proofreading edits, all of which were pretty quick, so it's not entirely pointless. Based on my personal experiences, it looks like the user was on a time crunch. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:38, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
Users have a right to make whatever edits they need to make. You can't expect them to take care of everything in one go. There's always a reason why they need their edits to be quick. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:40, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
And when I say "them", I mean "all of them". Everyone edits at their own speed, and you can't expect everyone to edit articles in their entirety all the time like you do. Sorry for the lack of clarification. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:50, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Did you notice?

I'm extremely grateful to you for having taken on the tremendous task of fixing all faulty anime episode synopsises. Yesterday, you fixed the synopsis for Holiday Hi-Jynx, but did you notice that the synopsis for Snow Way Out! is also apparently in the need of cleanup? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:01, 24 January 2020 (UTC)

No I hadn't actually. Now I know, I'll work on it soon. Thanks PardescanSlowbro (talk) 12:23, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
No problem. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:27, 24 January 2020 (UTC)

"Pitstop" vs. "pit-stop"

I don't know what to tell you. My browser's spell-checker isn't registering "pitstop" as a word un-hyphenated. Is that supposed to be the international English spelling? GrammarFreak01 (talk) 09:04, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

Pit stop as two separate words is a racing term, pitstop meanwhile is the correct way. EIther way no hyphen required. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 09:08, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

Pokémon removals from towns

What’s going on with that, exactly? I’ve seen two down to a single Pokémon without explanation--KnightGalarie (talk) 14:26, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

I've spoken with the admins about this already, having made changes to many Contest town pages in the past, the deleted Pokémon belong to Trainers in a competition rather than the actual location. The seen in locations are reserved for Pokémon that are either wild or knowingly inhabit the area. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 14:30, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
Okay, yeah, that makes sense. Carry on.--KnightGalarie (talk) 14:35, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
All good. Thanks for the query, PardescanSlowbro (talk) 14:37, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
As long as I’ve got you, I’ve been looking at the Recurring Wild Pokemon in the anime page and noticed the redundancy with the Meltan clan. There’s also the fact that by fusing with the one Ash caught, they’re no longer wild because they’re part of the Melmetal entity. So shouldn’t either the section be removed or the bullet be removed? I’m thinking of going with expanding the bullet to cover the whole clan, mention how initially one was caught but they all came back together by fusing and evolving, kind of like a concise version of the section. --KnightGalarie (talk) 14:44, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
It is an odd case. Personally I'm in favor of removing it from the recurring wild Pokémon category, and would consider it now part of Ash's Melmetal. I'd bring it up with an admin before making any change, Blazingfist or ForceFire will give you an answer quickly. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 14:49, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
Thanks so much. Also, I want to commend you on the Princess Festival reorganization. As much as losing the more minor competitors’ Pokémon might hurt, it at least takes a more decisive option (the menusprites) on the pictures of Ash’s Pokémon, which by previously using their main pics instead of the ones they use on their section for Misty, was basically taking the worst option of the three--KnightGalarie (talk) 15:14, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll be doing the same for other articles as well. Feel free to comment on some of the talk page discussions for merges and deletions, there are several pages I'm hoping to see streamlined. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 09:20, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Participant Pokémon lists

Why are you removing the lists of participating Pokémon from anime competition pages? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 11:36, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

You should have messaged first before before undoing the edits. Streamlining everything, plus I'm going for a consistent layout with other pages. The non-notable and unnamed competitors don't need to be listed.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 13:50, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Benny (146)

Instead of running to the next admin to get the answer you want, you could've just continued our discussion until you felt that it wasn't going anywhere. One response does not mean the end. To answer your rebuttal, I've already explained why changing the layout was unnecessary, the Pokemon already have articles and the information you placed can be found there. They only get the bigger templates if they have no article and there's no where to place their information. And the sentence rewording again wasn't necessary. There is no consistency problem. Every article does not need to have the same sentence structure. They can be different. Thank you.--ForceFire 04:58, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

Darla (EP043)

Although this was over two years ago, only recently I noticed that you added the information about Melvin's assistant girl from EP043 being named Darla. Do you happen to still remember where you took this information from? I rewatched the episode and checked the Pokemon.com subtitles and her name is never told there. Does it come from DVD subtitles, novelization book series (not sure if this episode ever got one), anime comic or some other source? --Maxim (talk) 11:12, 3 March 2021 (UTC)

Welcome back?

It's been a while since you've been here. Will you be getting back to main space edits soon? Just curious. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:08, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

Welcome back

Just wanting to wish you a very warm welcome back to Bulbapedia, hope all is well.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 12:10, 5 January 2023 (UTC)

Thanks - not quite. I'm only here on the off-chance and with the anime featuring Ash coming to a close, I thought it might be exciting times ahead. Anyway, congratulations on the promotion into an admin position. Nice to see the site being a little more vibrant with a few new names as regular contributors to things. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 14:22, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

Force Fire talk page

With your latest talk page comment for Force Fire in their archives, might I suggest posting it on their most recent talk page--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 12:11, 20 January 2023 (UTC)

Normally yes - though he archived it in days of that post and the query was never addressed. I thought it was worth keeping everything together. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 12:13, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
Please use the current talk page. You know how this works.--ForceFire 12:34, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
Noted. I just wanted an answer to that query and it got archived soon after it was posted. Anyway, I've forwarded it through to BigDocFan to see if game based characters can get separate anime pages and under what conditions, PardescanSlowbro (talk) 12:39, 20 January 2023 (UTC)

Character sections!

Hey there! First off, thank you for your contributions to the anime section over the years! That kind of dedication makes things feel warmer and more accomplished around here. I stopped by to mention that I restored the character sections for the game characters that I knew about. After talking it over with some folks, we felt that the anime sections for the characters (like Gym Leaders, E4, Champions, etc) deserve to keep that content available for readers. If I missed any, feel free to add them back in! I hope there aren't any hard feelings.

I do kindly ask if you could add the {{delete}} tag to any userpages that you no longer need, so that I can clean up the lingering details and we can move on. Thanks again for your help and contributions! I hope to see your name around here when we move onto Liko and Roy's story! MaverickNate 13:59, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
