Professor Kukui's Braviary (Japanese: ククイ博士 ウォーグル Dr. Kukui's Warrgle), is a Pokémon owned by Professor Kukui in the anime and the games.

In the anime

Prior to the start of the Sun & Moon series, Braviary fought Guzma and his Golisopod. Braviary ultimately defeated the Hard Scale Pokémon with a Brave Bird.

In Revealing the Stuff of Legend!, whilst at the Altar of the Sunne with Ash and his classmates, Kukui received a call for help from Professor Burnet. Kukui headed down and found Burnet and her Munchlax being confronted by a group of ally Jangmo-o and Hakamo-o. Kukui sent out Braviary, who sent them running with Brave Bird.

Braviary reappeared in the Poké Problem segment of SM053, where he had his injuries taken care of by Professor Burnet.

Professor Kukui sent out Braviary in The Professors' New Adventure!, where he acted as Kukui's witness during his wedding to Professor Burnet.

In The Prism Between Light and Darkness!, Braviary battled alongside Faba's Hypno and Alakazam against a special unit from Team Rocket, led by Matori. Braviary managed to stop them from entering an Ultra Wormhole by attacking the aircraft. Gozu left the helicopter and sent out his Aggron to battle before Mega Evolving Aggron. Braviary was hit by Heavy Slam, critically wounding him.

In Exhibition Unmasked!, Braviary was Kukui's second Pokémon used during his exhibition battle against Ash. It replaced Incineroar during the confrontation against Ash's Lycanroc. The battle continued in the next episode, where, despite the type disadvantage, Braviary was able to defeat Lycanroc before going up against Rowlet. Braviary was able to deflect Rowlet's Seed Bomb attacks back at Rowlet before being defeated by Brave Bird.

Personality and characteristics

Braviary is a strong Pokémon, being capable of dealing with multiple Jangmo-o and Hakamo-o at once. Braviary's strength also allowed him to deal serious damage to Team Rocket's aircraft, which prevented it from going through the Ultra Wormhole. He and Kukui are close, evidenced by him acting as a witness to his Trainer's wedding.
