Solana has made a few appearances in the anime.

Solana first appeared in The Green Guardian. She accompanied Ash and friends when they tried to help an injured Celebi. She later appeared in the episodes Pokémon Ranger - Deoxys Crisis! Part 1 and Part 2 where she met up with Ash and friends again and got involved in an incident involving Deoxys.

She was also showcased in the intro Spurt! starting from All That Glitters is Not Golden and made a brief appearance in the opening of Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea.

In her first two appearances, she was a Rank 3 Ranger. In Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu! Parts One and Two, Solana appeared with a new uniform, and did not have her Plusle with her.

Pokémon

This is listing is of Solana's known Pokémon in the anime:

Plusle

Plusle is Solana's main Pokémon. During Solana's mission to protect Celebi, Plusle has been relied on mostly for it's Helping Hand technique to power up the Pokémon caught by Solana using the capture styler. When Team Rocket came, Solana commanded Plusle to use Thunder Wave to destroy their mecha. In it's next appearance, Plusle along with Ash's Pikachu were affected by the geomagnetic disturbance caused by Deoxys. For some unknown reason, it was not seen in Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu! Parts 1 and 2.

In the Pokémon Ranger manga series, which was posted on the Pokémon Japanese website to follow with the Pokémon Ranger's game release in April 2006, Solana became a Ranger before Lunick did. Solana had taught a lot of things to Lunick involving becoming a Pokémon Ranger in the past. Now both of them are Rank 10 Rangers.

She often prepares to her best ability before she starts something. Even during her spare time she would try to read as many documents and information as possible about any upcoming mission given to them.

After the Ranger Leaders of Ring Town, Fall Town and Wintown failed in a mission that involved Deoxys, Prof. Hastings sent Solana and Lunick to finish what the Ranger Leaders had started.

Merchandise

Solana appears on the boxart for the "Pocket Monster Advance Generation Game of Life" board game.

Trivia

  • Solana's Spanish name is a reference to the moon, rather than the sun like all her other names. This is most likely due to the fact that the deity after which she is named sounds similar to her English name. Lunick's Spanish name is likewise a reference to the sun.
  • The Pokémon Ranger 4 Piece Collector Pin Set at PokemonCenter.com calls Solana Hiromi, possibly indicating a name from before "Hinata" was finalized.
  • Solana's birthday, according to the manga version of Pokémon Ranger, is September 16.
  • Solana's blood type is O.
