Pre-move/merge discussion
I seem to have some misconceptions about redirects. If a user types "Pokémon Watcher," won't it automatically take them to Pokémon Watcher without a redirect? I tried typing in "Tracey sketchit," and it took me to Tracey Sketchit without a redirect! What am I missing? -ニョロトノ666
- Maybe autoredirects are case-sensitive one way, but not the other. Lowercase redirect to capitals, but not vice versa. I dunno. That's how it looks, though. --DarkfireTaimatsu 21:37, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- The search bar is smarter than the article links. The search bar may recognize certain capitalizations that are redlinked in normal articles. If we were to delete this redirect and leave the ensuing redlinks as is, some clueless newbie could then try to create a bad article about Pokémon watchers, and as a result, that bad article would get turned back into a redirect. I'm confused
Should watcher be spelled with a capital W like the other trainer classes? It seems to be inconsistent in some articles. --ケンジのガール 22:04, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- The Bug Pokédex has "Pokémon Watcher", while the (error-filled) Extreme Pokémon: The Guide for the Ultimate Fan has "Pokémon watcher". Can anyone provide any other print mentions of "Pokémon Watcher" or "Pokémon watcher" to justify either capitalization? --SnorlaxMonster 08:27, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

- I'm a little late to this discussion though fully endorse the capitalization of 'Pokémon watcher' to 'Pokémon Watcher' to be consistent with the way it is written in the The Wacky Watcher! episode title and consistency with other Trainer classes.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 07:51, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

- With support from a user that was an admin at the time (now retired), a user that was a senior admin at the time (now an EB member), a user that was a junior admin at the time (now EiC), and four other users (including myself), plus the above strong evidence, I feel this is well overdue to be moved.
