Release information

This card was included in the Sword & Shield expansion with artwork by Anesaki Dynamic, first released in the Japanese Sword expansion. It was reprinted as one of the SWSH Black Star Promos with different artwork by Kouki Saitou and was one of four possible Prerelease cards available in the Sword & Shield Build & Battle Box. A version of the SWSH Promotional print with a gold foil "Staff" stamp was included in packs sent to Tournament Organizers.

A Non Holofoil version of the Sword & Shield print was also included in the Sword & Shield Build & Battle Box. A Parallel Holofoil version of this print was given away at Pokémon Leagues for the first month of the Sword & Shield Season (February 2020). This print has the Pokémon League logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork.

Rillaboom was reprinted as a Full Art Secret card with artwork by 5ban Graphics in the Darkness Ablaze expansion, first released in the Japanese Explosive Walker subset. The SWSH Promotional print was later included in the Japanese Shiny Star V subset, as was a new print with artwork by Ryuta Fuse featuring the Shiny version of Rillaboom. The Sword & Shield and Shiny prints were later included in the Shining Fates expansion.

A Cosmos Holofoil version of the Sword & Shield print was available in Costco-exclusive Galar Pals Mini Tin 5-Packs from late November 2022. Another Cosmos Holofoil print was available in an equivalent 5-pack bundle sold by Amazon from December 20, 2023. This print uses the Pixel Cosmos Holofoil paper that was reintroduced in the Scarlet & Violet Series, with the prior Costco bundle print using Smooth Cosmos Holofoil paper.
