Gear Up (Japanese: アシストギア Assist Gear) is a non-damaging Steel-type move introduced in Generation VII.

Effect

Generations VII to VIII

Gear Up raises the Attack and Special Attack stats of allied Pokémon (including the user) with the Ability Plus or Minus by one stage each.

If powered up by a Steelium Z into Z-Gear Up, the user's Special Attack stat rises one stage.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Gear Up cannot be selected in a battle.

Generation IX

Gear Up cannot be selected in a battle.

Description

Games Description SMUSUM SwShLA The user engages its gears to raise the Attack and Sp. Atk stats of ally Pokémon with the Plus or Minus Ability. BDSP SV This move can't be used. It's recommended that this move is forgotten. Once forgotten, this move can't be remembered.
