Silver (Japanese: シルバー) is the sixth main character of the manga series Pokémon Special. His first Pokémon was a Sneasel. As a child, he was kidnapped and raised by the evil Mask of Ice, where he met and became close with Blue. Together they escaped, and Silver went to Johto, where he later stole Professor Elm's Totodile. This is similar to the way Blue stole Professor Oak's Squirtle upon her return.

Silver's special skill, as described by Professor Oak, is Pokémon trading and is known as "the trader" (換える者).

In the FireRed & LeafGreen chapter it is revealed that Silver is the son of Giovanni.

Silver is based on the rival character of the same name in the Generation II games.

Trivia

  • Silver can be considered similar to Paul of the anime, considering they have similar personalities (in the beginning for Silver) where they both seem to only care about the strength of their Pokémon. They also have similar Pokémon, Murkrow (Paul's evolved into Honchkrow), Sneasel (Paul's evolved into Weavile) and Ursaring. As well, they both talk similarily when talking to their rivals, Gold and Ash Ketchum.
