Fuecoco (Japanese: ホゲータ Hogēta) is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.
Along with Sprigatito and Quaxly, Fuecoco is one of three starter Pokémon of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Along with Sprigatito and Quaxly, it was the first Generation IX Pokémon to be revealed to the public on February 27, 2022, through a Pokémon Presents video presentation.
Biology
According to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Website, Fuecoco is laid-back Fire Croc Pokémon that does things at its own place.
Trivia
Origin
Fuecoco appears to be based off a baby crocodile. The two tufts on its head and its overall body shape together makes it resemble a chili pepper.
Name origin
Fuecoco may be a combination of fuego (Spanish for fire) and cocodrilo (Spanish for crocodile).
Hogēta may be a combination of hot and gator.
