Sawk (Japanese: ダゲキ Dageki) is a Fighting-type Pokémon.
He is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.

Physiology
Sawk is a Fighting-type Pokémon with a lean body, blue, rocky skin. His head is oblong-like, with a sideways z-shaped black feature which forms its nose as well as part of its brow. His hands and feet each have three digits, with his feet and toes coming to a sharp point. Sawk seemingly wears a Karate gi at all times. Trivia
- Sawk is the only Pokémon able to learn Rock Smash by leveling up.
- Sawk and Throh draw parallels to the Generation I Pokémon Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, in that they are male-only Fighting-type Pokémon that appear to be related to each other.
- Sawk learns only Normal- and Fighting-type moves by leveling up.
Origin
Sawk is based on Mas Oyama, a well-known Karate expert and the creator of Kyokushinkai Karate. He is also based on an Oni.
According to interviews with Ken Sugimori in Nintendo Dream, in development, Sawk and Throh both had horns, making them look more like Oni. However, they were replaced with eyebrows so as not to clash with Tornadus and Thundurus, who both were originally designed to be red and blue, like Throh and Sawk.
Name origin
Sawk is a corruption of to sock, meaning to punch.
Dageki may be derived from 打撃 dageki (blow, strike). It may also involve 鬼 ki (demon).
