Where is the surfing pikachu minigame?C Is for Cookie
- Route 19. The game is run by what appears to be a game counterpart to Victor, who also has what appears to be a game counterpart to Puka. --Shiningpikablu252 01:32, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Raichu
If you trade Pikachu into Red/Blue and evolve it, then trade it back, will it still follow you? §hin¥£iΨ@chµ 20:51, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- As far as I know, no. I doubt there are separate sprites for Raichu's emotions and stuff like that. UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 20:59, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
On a similar note, does a Pikachu traded (even to GSC?) still follow you when traded back? I'd assume it would hate you even if it did. :D LordArceus 00:15, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- What happens if you keep it in Gold and Silver? Will it still follow you? It should still have that disliking of being inside its Poké Ball...Chuck67322 05:13, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
- That was a Yellow Version feature back then, the answer would be no.--Midnight Blue 05:18, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
If you have a Pikachu in the party, and you are that Pikachu's original trainer, then there will be a Pikachu following you. If you are not the Pikachu's OT (such as, if you got one traded to you from GS) it won't follow you.--Purimpopoie 17:40, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Gender
Is the Pikachu's gender always the same whenever you trade it to a 2nd generation game? Lovely Rose 17:38, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- The gender is pre-set when you get the Pikachu. However, trading to a Generation II handheld game or viewing the Pokémon's info in Stadium 2 is necessary to see the gender, and the gender ratios do hold true even for the starter Pikachu in Yellow. The gender'll always remain the same as it was set no matter how many times it gets transferred between game paks, just like any other Pokémon. Although I've had it male most of the time, I've gotten it female at least once myself. I guess you can say that the Yellow version of the game gets thrown out the window if one's trying to prove Ash's Pikachu's gender in the anime (the game can't be considered evidence either way)...--Shiningpikablu252 17:48, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Battle
- Is Yellow the first main series game to have two trainers appear on the enemy side of the battle screen? I've own the game myself since '99, and can't seem to find two trainers on the enemy side of the screen in Red/Blue.--Spritemaster 16:26 26 August 2009 (UTC)
- Wait, do you mean like the Jessie and James sprite? That kind of thing? If that's the case, then yes, that's correct. ZestyCactus 17:16, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, the Jessie/James sprite. Spritemaster 19:01 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Lickitung and Farfetch'd
You can catch Lickitung and Farfetch'd in this game, but you can't catch them in Red and Blue you have to get them through in-game trade. So why the heck can't we list that difference --AKR619 06:32, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- As they are available in Red, Green, and Blue the Pokémon themselves aren't exclusive. However, this is an interesting point and I've added it to the article. —darklordtrom 07:11, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Japanese V1.x
What's the difference between V1.0, V1.1 and V1.2 of the Japanese version, other than bug fixes? ポケモンあいこうか 16:15, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Changes
"Some Trainer sprites were also redone. Red was redesigned to closely resemble his counterpart Ash Ketchum from the anime whereas Blue closely resembles Gary Oak. Brock and Misty resemble their anime counterparts as well."
Does no one else have a problem with this? Red and Blue had their sprites redone, yes, but they match their official art from Gen 1. Much like all the Pokémon. You wouldn't say every Pokémon's sprite was redrawn to match the anime so much as to be more accurate to the official ideas. Also, Misty's sprite doesn't look particularly like it includes suspenders to me, just a tank top and some sporty shorts... BP 19:25, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
No one seems to be bothered so I'll just edit it to maximum accuracy, hiyah wah look at me go BP 07:17, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
Trivia
I fixed part of the Trivia section, and for some reason it won't let me put in links, I'm guessing it has something to do with me being a relatively new user, anyways if someone could or wants to add the links for the "Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and Platinum" part of it, it would be much appreciated. By the way the part I fixed was the line that said, "Pokemon Yellow is the only game to allow the player to walk into the grass without any Pokemon...", but you (the player) also walk into the grass without any Pokemon in the beginning of Pokemon D/P/Pt with Wally, then you get your starter, etc. So anyways thanks in advance. - Ash1Ketchum4 23:13, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
- If you can edit a page then you can put in links. There's no limitations on linking. Make sure you're using the Wikicode for links (Or the relevant Link template). html code for links won't work. Werdnae (talk) 01:51, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
I just copied a link (from the edit section of the Generation IV page) for Pokemon D/P/Pt and then tried to show preview/save changes and it wouldn't let me, but it would let me edit it without the link thing. Is it that you can't copy other links or did it do something wrong? Also the site kept signing me out a couple times for no reason, only when I was trying to edit. - Ash1Ketchum4 23:32, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- What exactly do you mean by "It wouldn't let me"? Was it saying that there was a loss of session data? If so then just try save it again - it's a glitch that the tech people are looking into. If it was saying that there was a permission error it had probably looged you out for some reason. Again, it's likely a glitch (Check your cookie settings if you want to make sure) and going back and trying it again should work. Werdnae (talk) 07:10, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
You said in the trivia that the second game your allowed to run in the grass without a Pokemon is Pokemon Diamond Pearl and Platinum, but in Platinum, Rowan stops you from going in the grass without Pokemon. - unsigned comment from MrGameAndWatch (talk • contribs)
Pokemon R/B and Pokemon Yellow cartridge differences
Not really that important, but the logo on the Pokemon Yellow cartridge is slightly smaller by .5 millimeters Image here 2 ERROR MissingNO123 (talk) 00:54, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
Pokemon Yellow Cartridge
Hey all, I was looking at the image of the cartridge on this page. My cartridge looks different - It has a different background, lacks the E for Everyone notice, the 'Special Pikachu Edition' text and other things. I live in the UK, and as far as I know this is an original, totally legit PAL Yellow cartridge (I have absolutely no doubt in my mind it is a legit real cart - It was originally my brother's from when it was first released and has never had any oddities in the translation and plays perfectly). I've included a link to the image of my cart. If there is a difference in the cart between regions, perhaps this could be added and/or go some way towards clarifying an English title? I've also noticed differences in all my GBC Pokemon carts to the images on the Archives but these are small things such as the ESRB and the version title fonts on Gold/Crystal, however I think this cart has the biggest difference and the image is used on the page. If anyone would like images of my other carts I can provide Red, Blue, Gold and Crystal (all legit PAL carts) If this difference has already been noted, I apologize. Composer for extra music tracks?
According to the article, the thee additional music tracks that are in Pokémon Yellow were written by Gõ Ichinose. (the beginning intro music, Jake and Jessie's Theme, and the Pikachu Surf mini-game music) Can anyone confirm this? The in-game credits doesn't list him. it only credits Junichi Masuda. If this is true, would this make him a likely composer for the Leftover Music Theme in the game files? - unsigned comment from Pokémusicer (talk • contribs)
The title of the page should stay the same.
It has been suggested that the title of this article be renamed "Pokémon Yellow." I'm okay with the suggestion, but even though other territories don't use the word "version," North America does, so we should refer to it by its full North American name. Thank you. Colosseum 2
According to the Virtual Console manual, in Colosseum 2, Mew cannot participate in any of the cups, and sleep only lasts 1-3 turns. Is this the case on Game Boy too? --SnorlaxMonster 06:40, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
Incorrect Information
In Story Changes it states "The old man in Viridian City now must be spoken to before going to Viridian Forest. He attempts to demonstrate how to catch a Pokémon, fails and leaves to get more Poké Balls. After this cutscene, he permanently vanishes from the game. This may have been meant as a way to neutralize the Old man glitch." However, the old man actually comes back after the player visits the Viridian Pokemart. --Bulbafreak9000 (talk) 11:09, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

Colosseum2 Mechanical Changes
Colossseum2 makes some invisible mechanical changes when in use that are not noted, which should be noted on this page.
- Sleep lasts 0-3 turns
If you need a source, check the disassembly. Pokemon Battle Historia also notes that something happens with Struggle, but my understanding of Japanese is limited.
Though, it could probably be put on the Cable Club area of the Pokemon Center page...--Pichu' Madman26 02:14, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
