Mewtwo (Japanese: ミュウツー Mewtwo) is a playable Pokémon in Pokémon UNITE. It became available as a playable character on July 21, 2023.

From December 5, 2023 to September 4, 2024, it was classified as an EX license. Starting September 4, 2025, it was forced to hold the Mewtwonite X as a held item.

Description

When the Pokémon deals damage to an opposing Pokémon with a basic attack, the Mega gauge increases.
The more the Mega gauge increases, the more the Pokémon's Attack, Defense, and Sp. Def increase.
If the Mega gauge becomes full when the Pokémon is Lv. 5 or higher, the Pokémon uses its collected Aeos energy and Mega Evolves for a set amount of time. When the Pokémon Mega Evolves, its Attack, Defense, and Sp. Def increase even more, and its movement speed increases. The more Aeos energy that's consumes, the longer the Pokémon remains Mega Evolved.

Basic Attack

When the Pokémon Mega Evolves, its basic attack power is boosted.

Description As MewtwoWhen the user deals damage to an opposing Pokémon, the Mega gauge increases.As Mega Mewtwo XHas the user perform a melee attack on an opposing Pokémon, which restores a portion of the user's HP based on the amount of damage it deals. Mewtwo only has a boosted attack when Mega Evolved.

Sure Hit Hindrance	Description
Has the user pull the designated opposing Pokémon toward itself and lock on to it. The locked-on opposing Pokémon will have its movement speed decreased and take increased damage. After a set amount of time, this move deals damage to the locked-on opposing Pokémon based on the amount of damage it took while locked on. Upgrade: The locked-on opposing Pokémon takes increased damage.

Sure Hit Hindrance	Description
Has the user direct psychic waves at the designated opposing Pokémon, dealing damage to it and decreasing its movement speed. While the user is directing psychic waves, it takes reduced damage. At the end of the move, the user hits the designated Pokémon and nearby opposing Pokémon with a strong psychic wave, throwing and dealing damage to all opposing Pokémon it hits. Upgrade: Strengthens the movement speed decrease.

Buff	Description
Grants the user a shield for a short time. While the shield effect is active, the user's movement speed is increased.

Buff Recovery	Description
Grants the user a shield for a short time. While the shield effect is active, the user's movement speed is increased, and the user recovers HP based on the amount of damage it takes from opposing Pokémon. When the user takes enough damage from opposing Pokémon for the shield effect to be removed, all of the user's move cooldowns are reduced, and the Mega gauge increases. Upgrade: Increases the amount of HP recovered.

	Teleport テレポート Teleport	Learned at Lv. 7 Cooldown: 10 seconds
Dash Buff	Description
The user teleports to the designated location. For a short time, the user's movement speed and damage dealt increase, and its basic attacks increase the Mega gauge by a greater amount. Upgrade: Increases the damage dealt to opposing Pokémon.

Unite Move

Area Hindrance	Description
Has the user bring down one powerful psychic blast upon each opposing Pokémon. Opposing Pokémon around each point of impact take damage, and are left unable to act, and have their Defense decreased for a short time.

Trivia

Infinite Psyburn's name may be derived from Psyburn, an attack in the Pokémon Trading Card Game that first appeared on the 1999 Black Star Promo Mewtwo and has appeared on multiple Mewtwo cards since. Mewtwo is also depicted firing psychic blasts from above in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs.
