Powder (Japanese: ふんじん Dust) is a non-damaging Bug-type move introduced in Generation VI. It is one of the signature moves of Vivillon.

Effect

This move is an increased priority move. If a Pokémon affected by Powder attempts to use a Fire-type move during that turn, they take damage (regardless of type) equal to 25% of their maximum HP and cannot execute the move. Powder does not prevent a Pokémon from thawing itself by using a move like Flame Wheel.

Grass-type Pokémon, Pokémon with Overcoat, and Pokémon holding the Safety Goggles are immune to Powder.

Description

Games Description
The user covers the target in a powder that explodes and damages the target if it uses a Fire-type move.
