If thrown, it will deal 1 damage (2 if sticky). Using this item in a dungeon will consume it, with no effect.

  In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness, and Explorers of Sky, if the player offers both a Sun Ribbon and Oval Stone at Luminous Spring, Happiny can be evolved into Chansey. It costs 1000 Poké and can be sold for 1 Poké.

In One Big Happiny Family!, Brock carved and made an Oval Stone for his newly born Happiny, which later helped her evolve into a Chansey in The Brockster is In.

Trivia

  • Along with being listed amongst the evolutionary stones, the Oval Stone has the "Use" option when selected in the Bag, but if the player tries to use it, no Pokémon are listed as "Able".
  • The Oval Stone is the only Evolution item with "Stone" in its English name that is not an evolutionary stone.
