Kinesis (Japanese: スプーンまげ Spoon Bend) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I. It is the signature move of Kadabra and Alakazam.

Effect

Kinesis decreases the target's Accuracy stat by one stat level. Kinesis will do nothing if the target's Accuracy stat is at a stat level of -6, and will fail if the target has a Substitute or is under the effect of Mist.

Trivia

  • Because of the absence of a move relearner in the first two generations, this move was nearly unobtainable, and the only possible way to obtain it in Pokémon Red and Blue was trading a wild Kadabra from other games. Even then, it is not learnable by Kadabra, since Kadabra evolves into Alakazam upon trading.
    • However, one can stop Kadabra's evolution.
