Flavor text Generation VII Turns the ground into Grassy Terrain when the Pokémon enters a battle. Generation VIII Turns the ground into Grassy Terrain when the Pokémon enters a battle. Generation IX Turns the ground into Grassy Terrain when the Pokémon enters a battle.

Grassy Surge (Japanese: グラスメイカー Grass Maker) is an Ability introduced in Generation VII. Prior to Generation VIII, it was the signature Ability of Tapu Bulu. In Generation IX, it is the signature Ability of Grookey's evolutionary line.

Effect

In battle

When a Pokémon with Grassy Surge enters the battle, it creates the effect of the move Grassy Terrain on the battlefield.

Outside of battle

Grassy Surge has no effect outside of battle.

Trivia
