Goh's Heracross (Japanese: ゴウのヘラクロス Go's Heracros) is the twenty-eighth Pokémon that Goh obtained in the Kanto region, and his fifty-seventh overall.

History

With Kricketina Kylie

Heracross and Kricketina Kylie

Heracross was Kricketina Kylie's first known Pokémon. In Trade, Borrow, and Steal!, Heracross was used to battle Ash in the World Coronation Series, where he went up against Pikachu. Despite a good fight and using powerful moves, Heracross was defeated.

Shortly thereafter, Kricketina took Heracross to the Pokémon Center to recover. There, he showed himself off to the people in the place. When Kricketina saw that Goh had a Pinsir, she offered Heracross in exchange for it, since it was a rare Pokémon in her home region.

Later, Heracross assisted Kricketina Kylie, Goh, and Ash in searching for a Pinsir. During this search, Heracross helped cleared the way in the forest. After it threw a tree away, Kricketina used Heracross to defeat a wild Ekans. The group then decided to cook and use the food to try to attract something close to them. To this end, Heracross and Kricketina started cooking a portion of "Kricketina Treats" to spread in the forest.

The Kricketina Treats ended up catching the attention of Team Rocket, who was days without food, and they decided to capture the group's Pokémon. Despite this, they only captured Ash, Goh's Sobble, and Kricketina while leaving Goh and Heracross. This forced the two to battle a Drapion and a Scolipede that Jessie and James received from the Rocket Prize Master, alongside Meowth.

This battle ended up catching the attention of Goh's Pinsir, who started to develop feelings for Heracross. Eventually, Heracross and Goh managed to defeat Team Rocket and send them blasting off. Afterwards, Goh caught a Pinsir who was attracted to Kricketina Treats. With his first Pinsir in love with Heracross, Goh agreed to trade his newly caught Pinsir for Heracross.

In Getting More Than You Battled For!, during a search for Mew, Goh used Heracross to save Ash from sinking in a swamp. Due to his enormous strength, he ended up throwing Ash into the air, catching him shortly after.

Personality and characteristics

Heracross and Pinsir

Heracross is a powerful battler. During his battle against Ash's Pikachu, he was able to use powerful moves against his opponent and was able to easily defeat Meowth and Jessie's Wobbuffet. When Goh's Pinsir saw Heracross in action, it fell in love with Heracross, what makes Pinsir always close to Heracross when they are at Cerise Laboratory. Heracross is also quite sociable, accepting Goh's commands even when he was not his Trainer or showing off to people who were at the Pokémon Center.

Heracross is also an excellent cook, helping Kricketina Kylie prepare food meant to attract Bug-type Pokémon around the forest.

During his time at Laboratory, Heracross enjoys training with some of Goh's Pokémon, such as Darmanitan.
