Release information

This card was released as a promotional card. In Japan, it was distributed with ticket purchases at the theatrical release of Dialga vs. Palkia vs. Darkrai in July 2007. The English version was distributed with the Template:Merch in May 2008 as both a regular and Jumbo-sized card. In the United Kingdom, it was released as a limited-edition Non-Holofoil version bundled in with The Rise of Darkrai on DVD in September 2008.

Trivia

This is the first DP Black Star Promo card released that is not a reprint of any sort, and the first since Tropical Wind (reprinted from the previous promo series) not to be a reprint of a card found in an expansion set.

Origin

This Darkrai card is based on the Nintendo event Darkrai given out in Japanese movie theaters playing Dialga vs Palkia vs Darkrai in July, 2007 and given out at Toys "R" Us stores at the end of May, 2008 in the United States. That Darkrai also had the moves Roar of Time and Spacial Rend, and was also holding an Enigma Berry.
