An Enigma Berry (Japanese: ナゾのみNazo Fruit) is a type of Berry introduced in Generation III. In Generation III, it is used as a placeholder for data from Pokémon Battle e cards, and cannot be legitimately obtained as an item. In Generation IV, it became a normal Berry, but retained its rarity. In Generation V, it can also be found as a Battle Subway NPC partner's occasional held item.
An Enigma Berry restores ¼ of the holder's max HP when the Pokémon is hit by a super effective move. This effect is present only from Generation IV onwards.
In the Generation III games, e-Reader Berries held or consumed by another player's Pokémon will appear as Enigma Berries in the Pokémon Cable Club Colosseum. The player will not be permitted to enter the Pokémon Cable Club Trade Center, the Pokémon Wireless Club Union Room, or the Pokémon Wireless Club Direct Corner Trade Center if a Pokémon in their party is holding this Berry. A Pokémon holding this Berry cannot be traded to Pokémon Colosseum or Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, nor can it be stored in Pokémon Box Ruby & Sapphire.
Enigma Berries have a base Berry Powder of 200 and a difficulty of 150. With two players, this Berry will contribute 400 units of Berry Powder at 100% silkiness.
Enigma Berries are purple Berries in Group 3. If blended with a Roseli Berry, it will become an Ultra Rare Soda, increasing the drinker's level by 4-5.
A Enigma plant will yield 1-5 Berries. A growing Enigma plant's soil dries by 7% every hour, fully drying out in 15 hours.
