A Commander (Japanese: ギンガだんかんぶ Team Galactic Executive) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that first debuted in the Generation IV games. Commanders can come in either gender.
The title has only specifically referred to three characters: Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. They are the subleaders of Team Galactic under Cyrus. They generally have stronger Pokémon than the grunts they command and can only be battled on certain occasions.
Another Team Galactic Commander, Charon, was revealed in Pokémon Platinum, though he is never battled in the game.

In the anime
Saturn first appeared in a brief appearance in A Secret Sphere of Influence!. He later appeared in Journey to the Unown!, where he obtained the Spear Key from the Solaceon Ruins, and in Losing Its Lustrous! where he was able to steal the Adamant Orb.
Mars made her debut in Losing Its Lustrous! while Jupiter first appeared the next episode. Both of them, along with other members of Team Galactic, stole the Lustrous Orb from the Celestic Town Historical Research Center, completing the pair they needed.
Mars later appeared in Steeling Peace of Mind!, where she was trying to locate the Spear Pillar using ruins on Iron Island. All of the Commanders, including Charon also appeared in the following episode.
In Gateway to Ruin!, Saturn and Charon appeared, searching for the Spear Pillar on Mt. Coronet. Their mission was interrupted by Looker and Team Rocket, and they retreated without finding the gateway to the Spear Pillar.
In DP151, with the help of J, the three were able to obtain Mesprit, Azelf and Uxie, allowing the team to take control of them. This then allows them to summon Dialga and Palkia. However, they were later arrested after Cyrus disappeared.
