A wallpaper is a background used in a Box in the Pokémon Storage System. They first appeared in Generation III. They are purely cosmetic and and offer a way to visually distinguish Boxes from each other.

Most games include 3 sets labelled "Scenery" which depict different natural environments for Pokémon, as well as an "Etcetera" or "Misc.", which have designs that are more pattern-based or simplistic. Generation IV also introduced the concept of extra sets of unique wallpapers that are unlocked through completing events in the game's story.
