Synopsis
A door appears on the screen and the series logo after that, which opens.
Ash, Pikachu, Misty, and Brock are seen running in a field. Ash and Pikachu stop and smile as he thinks of Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny, Professor Oak, Delia, Professor Elm, and Tracey.
Team Rocket are seen running away from TRDelibird ([[{{{2}}} (move)|{{{2}}}]]).
Ash hugs Larvitar and sees his Pokémon that are away or kept at Professor Oak's Laboratory.
Mew and Mewtwo appear on the screen battling, then Ho-Oh flies alongside Entei, Raikou, and Suicune who run to the left. Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres, and Lugia are flying. Celebi appears on the screen and then Ash and Pikachu see them all.
Ash's group is camping out, while nearby Larvitar is looking to the moon and Politoed appears clapping his hands.
On a dark rainy day, Ash hysterically cries as Misty and Block look sad next to him.
Ash looks at a stadium as he thinks of Gary Oak, Ritchie, and Casey. In the Stadium Ash's Pokémon are seen fighting against other Pokemon. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt which can be seen outside the stadium.

Trivia
- All eleven Legendary and Mythical Pokémon as of Generation II are featured.
- Many of Ash's Pokémon that returned for the Silver Conference had been hinted to do just that in this opening—all but Squirtle, Muk, and Tauros. Interestingly, Kingler was eventually replaced by Squirtle in its relevant league battle.
- This is the first Japanese opening theme not to be used in a Pokémon movie. In M05, a remix of Aim to Be a Pokémon Master was used instead.
