Welcome to Bulbapedia, Johnwest1999!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Hello

Please refrain from modifying your welcome template. Not only does it use an image that is not used anywhere else on the wiki, but it's considered pointless editing. Please focus your efforts elsewhere. The wiki may be open to editing again, but our servers are still under stress. Thanks. Jellotalk 22:24, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Is ANY of what your adding true? Because It doesn't look like it.—★Pika3323 22:46, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia

I'd be careful next time you want to add something in, as it may be viewed as a vandal edit and you may be blocked or a while because of it. Please make sure all of what you're adding is 100% true. Thank you. --P S Yライダー 22:54, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia (i /ˌwɪkɪˈpiːdi.ə/ or i /ˌwɪkiˈpiːdi.ə/ WIK-i-PEE-dee-ə) is a free, web-based, collaborative, multilingual encyclopedia project supported by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. Its 18 million articles (over 3.6 million in English) have been written collaboratively by volunteers around the world, and almost all of its articles can be edited by anyone with access to the site. Wikipedia was launched in 2001 by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger and has become the largest and most popular general reference work on the Internet, ranking around seventh among all websites on Alexa and having 365 million readers. The name Wikipedia was coined by Larry Sanger and is a portmanteau of wiki (a technology for creating collaborative websites, from the Hawaiian word wiki, meaning "quick") and encyclopedia. Wikipedia's departure from the expert-driven style of the encyclopedia building mode and the large presence of unacademic content have been noted several times. When Time magazine recognized You as its Person of the Year for 2006, acknowledging the accelerating success of online collaboration and interaction by millions of users around the world, it cited Wikipedia as one of several examples of Web 2.0 services, along with YouTube, MySpace, and Facebook. Some have noted the importance of Wikipedia not only as an encyclopedic reference but also as a frequently updated news resource because of how quickly articles about recent events appear. Students have been assigned to write Wikipedia articles as an exercise in clearly and succinctly explaining difficult concepts to an uninitiated audience. Although the policies of Wikipedia strongly espouse verifiability and a neutral point of view, critics of Wikipedia accuse it of systemic bias and inconsistencies (including undue weight given to popular culture), and allege that it favors consensus over credentials in its editorial processes. Its reliability and accuracy are also targeted. Other criticisms center on its susceptibility to vandalism and the addition of spurious or unverified information; however, scholarly work suggests that vandalism is generally short-lived. An investigation in Nature found that the science articles they compared came close to the level of accuracy of Encyclopædia Britannica and had a similar rate of "serious errors."

And your point is?—★Pika3323 19:58, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Wikimedia Foundation and Bulbapedia

Bulbapedia is not owned nor operated by the Wikimedia Foundation. Bulbapedia uses MediaWiki software to operate, and MediaWiki is owned by the Wikimedia Foundation, but that is all that they have in common. Bulbapedia is owned and operated by Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden. --SnorlaxMonster 02:02, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

I would like to remind you again of this message. Continuing to add information to the Bulbapedia article that you have been told is erroneous is considered vandalism and insubordination, and adding that statement again will result in a short block. --SnorlaxMonster 10:54, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Changes button... Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Thanks! ----Pokemaster97 23:42, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
