Animated sprites

Hi. When adding animated sprites, please make sure you're using the same size (in pixels, that is) as the current sprites. I had to revert your Typhlosion sprites because they had too much whitespace around them, and it disrupted templates they were used on. Thanks. --electAbuzzzz 12:32, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

STOP. Do NOT do any more sprites until someone tells you otherwise. You're doing them in wrong sizes and it messes up templates. Our current standard says all Gen IV sprites must be 80x80px, but now I'm not sure that's correct either... When you do it in different sizes it messes things up. --electAbuzzzz 21:52, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Of course, I realize GameFreak is responsible and not you, but until we decide what to do, don't upload any more sprites. It seriously messes up some pages. I'll let you know once we (the staff) settle this. --electAbuzzzz 11:06, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
And another thing, always save animation in .gif format.--ForceFire 09:55, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Ani moves

Brave Bird and Close Combat. they look great, but there are two problems. first, they are in Japanese, and second, and this is the big one, they are aniPNG but the first frame is not mid-move. people who cant see aniPNG will just see Staraptor staring at its opponent. -- MAGNEDETH 21:39, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Sorry if I bother you, but I checked in IE to see if the first frame of both moves are mid-move and they are just fine, the Japanese language is still a problem though.--Flare drive 09:07, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
no, its not a bother, but just keep the conversation on one page. going back and forth can be a bother. anyway, you are correct, the images do appear to be mid-move. someone else told me and i didnt check, thats what i get. as for the Japanese, are you using a ROM to get these images? -- MAGNEDETH 20:47, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
well, we have another problem. while animated moves need to be mid-animation, sprites do NOT. people are seeing the middle animation on Mewtwo, and thats wrong, so youre going to need to use the first sprite in those cases. -- MAGNEDETH 01:12, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
I now fixed all the sprites I uploaded, and yes I use a ROM to get these images, but I use DeSmuMe to extract them (I have No$GBA as well , but when it comes to screenshots and vids DeSmuMe is by far the best one to use)--Flare drive 13:04, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
yea thats fine, im just thinking itd be better to wait until the English release to do the moves. yea, we could use a translated ROM, but theres always that slim chance Nintendo wont use the same words theyve been using for the past 15 years. also, this isnt required as much as it is a preference, but id like to see Pokemon use the moves that are based on their own type. Magnezone using Thunder or Gallade using Close Combat, you know? i was actually planning to do some of the moves myself. -- MAGNEDETH 19:33, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Hey there

Hi, would you mind sharing your process of making an APNG image like those you upload? I have my own way, but I'd like yours as a reference. Thanks :) Decibel 21:19, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Actually, I saw you're using DeSmuME, that pretty much makes it clear, thanks anyway :p Decibel 21:40, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
