Hidden Poké-Power
The long strip contains data for an additional Poké-Power this card can use:
Psy-Capture サイコキャプチャー
You can use this power once during your turn (before your attack), if Kadabra is your Active Pokémon. This Poké-Power lets each player draw a number of cards from his or her deck. This power can't be used when Kadabra is affected by a Special Condition.
This would be the last appearance of Kadabra in the TCG for nearly 20 years until the release of Kadabra from the 151 expansion in 2023, despite Abra and Alakazam being included in other expansions since. This is due to illusionist Uri Geller's lawsuit against Nintendo over the similarity between Kadabra's Japanese name (ユンゲラー Yungerer) and appearance to his own.
Mysterious Treasures contained the last appearance of Abra until the release of Abra from the 151 expansion in 2023. It had an attack that allowed it to evolve directly into an Alakazam.
In November 2020, Uri Geller dismissed his lawsuit on Kadabra's depiction in the TCG due to fan outcry,[1] thus allowing Kadabra cards to be released again.
