This card was included in the Chilling Reign expansion with artwork by Asako Ito, first released in the Japanese Jet-Black Spirit expansion. It was reprinted, alongside a Full Art Secret card with artwork by Atsushi Furusawa featuring Cheren, in the Japanese VMAX Climax subset. The VMAX Climax Full Art Secret print was later included in the Lost Origin expansion.

This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Moon. Cheren is featured in the Lost Origin print's illustration, who uses a Castform in some of his teams at the Pokémon World Tournament. This print also features the interior of the Aspertia City Trainers' School, referencing Cheren's teaching role in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2.
