This card was released as a Wizards Black Star Promo through the Pokémon League in July 2002. In Japan, it was first available as a glossy card on sheet nine of Expansion Sheet 2. It was reprinted as a non-glossy Holofoil card in the Red Deck of the Quick Starter Gift Set. All Japanese prints use the Original Series layout and have the Pokémon Power not working if the Pokémon is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed. The English print uses the Neo Series layout and has the Pokémon Power not working if the Pokémon is affected by any Special Condition.

Trivia

Origin

Aurora Veil is a move later introduced in the Generation VII Pokémon games that Articuno can learn; however, the Japanese names are different, making this Pokémon Power and the move unrelated. Ice Beam is a move that Articuno can learn. This card's English Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue. The Japanese entry comes from Pokémon Blue.
