Russian name

Obstagoon's Russian name is Обстагун ''Obstagun'', could someone add it please? --Raltseye prata med mej 23:04, 7 August 2019 (UTC)

English name

I see that Obstagoon's name can be based on 'obstruct' (also works with it's new move Obstruct), but it could also be based on 'obstinate-stubbornly refusing to change one's opinion or chosen course of action, despite attempts to persuade one to do so'. - unsigned comment from Srushj11 (talkcontribs)

I can also see that. By the way, don't forget to sign your comments using four tildes (~). Kikugi (talk) 04:53, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

Inspiration.

For species I feel like this guy (and the linoone, not so much the zigzagoon) might be based on honey badgers in temperament and european badgers in appearance (and possibly a little bit of inspiration from hyenas, too, but definitely mostly badger.)

It's also worth noting that their patterns also resembles grease makeup (as worn by bands like KISS and Insane Clown Posse). This is also fitting with their use by Team Yell, which IMO seem to be a charicature of particularly dedicated punk rock/heavy metal fans.

The Galarian Evo line's tongue constantly sticking out heavily resembles the way Gene Simmons has his tongue out while performing as a member of KISS. Obstagoon even has a widow's peak like Gene, and its grey fur resembles the armour he wears when dressed up. LordHeinz (talk) 17:31, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

Gene Simmons noted that his family has loved Pokémon ever since its release and loves that the Galarian Zigzagoon evolution line is a homage to his band; KISS. Would an admin be able to add this to the trivia off all three Pokémon? One of a few sources. Frozen Fennec 13:12, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

Important Note

This Pokémon is the first new evolution of an old Pokémon since Gen 4. I think this might be important to make note of in a trivia section. Pikatwig (talk) 22:48, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

It's half true, it evolves from new Pokemon. Alolan Marowak is actually a cross generational evolution and we had it just one generation before. In generation 6 was Sylveon, so the gap is only on fifth.--Rocket Grunt (Report To Me) 23:36, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
Alolan Marowak is just Marowak as a Fire Ghost Pokémon. I don't think regional variants should be counted for cross-generational evolutions because they are not exactly separate Pokémon from their original forms. SeanWheeler (talk) 23:16, 9 August 2019 (UTC)

Asian Names

For Japanese and Chinese translations, 洗熊 (wash bear/ racoon) is listed as a source; although only 熊 (bear) is technically present. For both of its previous evolutions, this is noted and explained in more detail. Eragon4 (talk) 01:06, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

Shiny Form's eye is different between SwSh and Home

In SwSh it's got the same cyan eyes as the Galarian forms of Zigzagoon and Linoone, but in HOME it's got the same red eyes as its non-shiny form. If the sprites we have are to be believed.

I don't know exactly what the policy is on changing colorations between games. Is it worth a trivia bullet?

More Name Origin?

Is it possible that Obstagoon's name could also include "obstinate" - unsigned comment from Power-Point Panpour (talkcontribs)
