After losing a territorial struggle, Wooper began living on land. The Pokémon changed over time, developing a poisonous film to protect its body.

Trivia

Excluding cards with generic or plain white backgrounds, this is the only card illustrated by Saya Tsuruta to not feature a hidden image of a Poké Ball in the background, which is a signature of her Pokémon card illustrations. In an apology, Tsuruta mentioned that the Poké Ball in this card had "rolled off the frame".

Origin

This card features the Paldean form of Wooper. Playful Kick is an attack that first appeared on Mudkip from Fusion Strike. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Scarlet.
