Like with all [[Pokémon ☆ (TCG)|Pokémon ☆]] cards, this card is intended to represent the {{Shiny}} version of a Pokémon. However, in this particular instance, that trait does not seem to follow up entirely. While Shiny Mudkip are purplish colored, the one represented on the card has a blue hue on its skin that actually bears more resemblance to the species' non-Shiny variant. Curiously enough, the tail fin and lower body of the Pokémon are correctly colored after Mudkip's usual Shiny form. | |||

Origin
Whirlpool is a move in the Pokémon games that Mudkip can learn. Spring Back's Japanese name is that of Payback, a move later introduced in Generation IV that Mudkip cannot learn.
Like with all Pokémon ☆ cards, this card is intended to represent the Shiny version of a Pokémon.
