The Moon Flute (Japanese: つきのふえ Moon Flute) is a Key Item introduced in Generation VII.

In the core series games

In Pokémon Sun and Ultra Sun, this item is in Lusamine's possession. After the player defeats Lusamine, Gladion finds it among Lusamine's belongings and gives it to Lillie.

In Pokémon Moon and Ultra Moon, this item is located on Exeggutor Island. The player obtains it as an item in their Bag upon finding it.

Effect

When the Sun Flute and Moon Flute are played in harmony at the Altar of the Sunne during the storyline of Pokémon Sun and Ultra Sun, it causes Nebby to evolve into Solgaleo.

When the Sun Flute and Moon Flute are played in harmony at the Altar of the Moone during the storyline of Pokémon Moon and Ultra Moon, it causes Nebby to evolve into Lunala.

In the Pokémon Adventures manga

The Moon Flute first appeared in PASM23, where it was seen in Hapu's possession. It was later taken by Tapu Bulu and given to Moon, who played it alongside Sun's Sun Flute at the Poni Altar, allowing Nebby to evolve into Lunala.
