Now, this time, please, don't fill it up thrice in a month! I REALLY HATE MOVING IT THIS MUCH.

I aim to keep this until December!

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon

Should the PMD Pokemon have their own sprites...some people already created some sprites...I need to know, so people would stop if you don't allow them....what's your view?--Tavisource 23:54, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

...like... um, the specials? Ehhh... I'd be hesitant. No more than there currently are, I'd say. TTEchidna 02:12, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Oy!

You're the new Editor-in-Chief! That sucks! The 'pedia will crash and burn! --ニョロトノ666 01:18, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

I know, won't it! Though I've essentially been in power since last year. Uhm... EDIBOARD SWITCHUP. TTEchidna 02:30, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Now I need everyone to get AIM. TTEchidna 02:50, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

DP099 Protection

I don't know who else to ask this, but this page needs to be protected. A user keeps removing the K-Zone note when it should be there.

----HoennMaster 06:24, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Edit: Page is protected, but someone needs to talk some sense into Kenji-girl because they refuse to leave this note when it is correct.

----HoennMaster 06:27, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

You know, I am an Admin so protecting isn't going to stop me from removing it. You need to learn to not revert admins decisions. --ケンジガール 06:28, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

I didn't know you were an admin before this and your obviously abusing that power and being stubborn. It was in the magazine, that's why that mote is there.

----HoennMaster 06:31, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

"Details of the episode were released by K-Zone, a childrens magazine, before any Japanese listing"
To me, that doesn't sound like what you are trying to argue. You simply said that K-Zone said that he would appear and he did. How exactly did that gives us details of the episode? The details they gave weren't even right. The first to announce the episode was Pokeani, not K-Zone. K-Zone made up something and we shouldn't be mentioning it just because they were right the first few times. Before they gave out the actual title and the correct details of the episode only weeks before the actual airdate. This time they didn't. They just said Aaron would be in the anime and the details of the episode weren't known until recently, when Pokeani annouced it. --ケンジガール 06:39, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Again, your just saying they guessed, you don't know that. Obviously they did know something.

----HoennMaster 06:43, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Either way, a mention should be made about K-Zone. TTEchidna 21:21, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Admins

ElectAbuzzzz and Takoto were both nominated for adminship one month from today, and they both have enough votes in favour for them to become admins. So, do your thing, man. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 20:45, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for reminding me. However, I'm gonna wait on it until later on tonight. Don't quite have a clear head right now, with my second class still upcoming. TTEchidna 20:50, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't know if this is the right place to mention this but...

Basically, I've noticed that there is a distinct lack of articles on the Pokemon Special manga, which I'm actually a big fan of. I've all of the episodes up to the RubySapphire arc saved on my computer. I've added to basic information on the page about the RedGreenBlue arc, and I wanted to do some pages on the main Pokemon in the series. Of course, I don't have the necessary rights to upload images, so I was wondering if I could either be given them or if someone else could upload pictures which would help (eg. Red's Poliwrath) Also, I don't know how these 'Projects' are started (eg. Project Movedex) but I thought it might be time to start one about Pokemon Special. Thanks and sorry if you're not the right guy to ask! --- --Gastly's Mama

CoolPikachu! already started up Project Manga, which works with Special, among other things. --((Marton imos)) 23:01, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Flint (Elite Four)

I'm having trouble removing a link to the Battle Frontier disambig from this page due to the link's usage in a template that doesn't allow workarounds. Since you're the expert template hacker, is it possible to get the template that uses the disambig to link to Battle Frontier (Sinnoh) while still displaying just Battle Frontier? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 02:59, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

The template is {{si}} for Sinnoh parentheticals. TTEchidna 03:43, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
However seeing as that wasn't the problem, I added a parameter to the Party template, link, for alt-texting. TTEchidna 03:46, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

TCG cards damage calculation

User:Shiningpikablu252 reverted me on Aura's Lucario ("PCG-P" Promo 92). He claimed that it was previously decided damage calculations are not notable enough to belong in an article unless they influence the metagame. I asked him where this was decided, yet he ignores me and he's made an implied threat if I added it back in. Do you happen to know of such a debate?
The discussion took place here, here, and here. I believe that if I'm going to be blocked for something, at least I should have better reasons than "It's not notable enough" (since there's no notability rule on content added to existing pages) and "It's been decided by the community" (since he hasn't produced a record of such). He's ignoring me, so I turn to you to explain why this data shouldn't be on the page. --Raijinili 08:46, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

I agree with Shiningpikablu. There's nothing unusual about the damage calculation - loads of cards have similar moves, so the info's not really specific to the card. I think the only way you could get the fact mentioned is if there was an article about types of TCG moves (ones which do regular damage, ones which depend on coin tosses, etc.), where the trivia would be more relevant. But that seems a lot of trouble to go to just to get this random piece of trivia mentioned. It's not even very interesting trivia - I studied Statistics for two years and now I'm doing Further Maths, and even I don't find it interesting, so I think we're better off without it. Next time you add trivia, make sure it's very specific to the page you're putting it on. Flicky1991 18:08, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't really see why that specific fact of "average 30 damage" would be needed. I see it as "opportunity for as much damage as I want, but chance to do nothing". Plus, all mathematical averages aside, the two most likely damages are 0 and 30, not just 30. You get tails on the first flip, you lose. TTEchidna 18:14, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Show me where it says that trivia should be interesting. --Raijinili 23:28, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Umm.. any modern age dictionary? But anyway, when the editor in chief, two admins, and a normal user say that it should not be included, then it obviously shouldn't go in! (TTE is the Editor-in-Chief; Pikablu and I are the admins; and Flicky is the user.) In other words, it should not, and will not be put in any TCG page! MoldyOrange 00:20, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Alright, here's where it says trivia should be interesting: TRIVIA SHOULD BE INTERESTING Satisfied? --ニョロトノ666 00:22, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Orange: Dictionaries actually say that trivia should be unimportant. Not "interesting".
Anyway, okay. So consensus is against mathematical calculations on individual pages. That aside, does anyone know about the earlier discussion about this? --Raijinili 04:58, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Small question

Hi. I was wondering: is there a way to redirect categories? I searched but couldn't find anything. The reason I ask is this. It's mostly misspellings or alternate spellings of existing categories. If redirecting is impossible, should I go through these users and politely suggest they change the spelling in their template to the existing categories? --electAbuzzzz 13:39, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

I wish they could be. But nope. You gotta change the pages calling the category. TTEchidna 18:10, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Too bad. I'm assuming it'd be wrong of me to change the userpages myself, right? Should I go through all these users and ask them if they want to change it so that they'll be in the right category? --electAbuzzzz 18:12, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
If it's users getting stuck in non-user categories (such as someone accidentally putting themselves in the Category:User tags), then I don't think you should have to ask to fix it. Anything else is a grey area, I'd say; we don't really have a rule that says you can or can't go fixing stuff like that, as far as I know. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 19:12, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
That's not the case. Look here. It's users who used {{User Country}} before it auto-categorized. Now, we have a category named Users from the United States, but not "Users from the United States of America". Get the problem? --electAbuzzzz 19:16, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I just noticed that myself. You can just edit the user tags then, though; the category links are in the user tags, not actually in the user's pages. For the United States of America one, for example, I'd simply switch the category link on the smaller one to point to the bigger group. People can use either tag in that case, and it'll all go to the same category. Might end up with a few extra tags, but the categories would be nice and pretty. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 19:17, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
That's not the way this template works. Check its coding and its use on userpages, you'll see that I'll have to touch others' userpages to correct this. --electAbuzzzz 19:20, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
The rule is "No edits to other users' pages unless problems stemming from their page spread to outside places (wanted pages, wanted categories, duplicate files) you are allowed to edit them, since you are solving a problem bigger than just the userpage. MoldyOrange 19:22, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Great, thanks. I'm on it. --electAbuzzzz 19:23, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Baby G

Baby G has done six edits to his userspace today, after twice being given a final warning for over-editing the userspace. - Kogoro | Talk to me | 21:45, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

3 is not the same as 6.
  • 17:24, October 3, 2008 (hist) (diff) User:Baby G/Tiers‎ (top)

  • 17:32, October 3, 2008 (hist) (diff) m User:Baby G‎ (→Subpage list) (top)

Looks like 3 to me. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 22:29, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

I really hate how deleting a page makes the edits seemingly disappear from the Contributions Log. Baby G made three edits (combined) on the now deleted User:Baby G/Pokémon I love and hate and User:Baby G/Archive bottom. Both pages were deleted by PAK Man as shown on the Deletion Log.
Baby G, just cause the pages were deleted, doesn't mean you didn't make the three edits to them. Lying to the current head sysop isn't a good idea... - Kogoro | Talk to me | 22:38, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
But since they're deleted, they don't count. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 22:39, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
That's like saying the Tiananmen square protests didn't happen just because the Chinese government domestically censors any mention of it in the media. You made those edits whether the page was deleted afterward or not.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 22:44, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Baby G only made three. End of story. MoldyOrange 22:49, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm on Urutapu's side. Even if it was deleted, it will never disappear in the history in this website~Ποκεμανιακα0β 22:51, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
It looks to me like the extra edits were putting delete tags on the pages in question... at least two of them, anyway. --((Marton imos)) 22:51, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Those three edits were to put the delete tags on the pages. That is a justifiable reason to edit the page. Justifiable reasons are not counted. Other justifiable reasons include: removing unneeded red-links that appear in the wanted pages, changing things so that they don't appear in the wrong category, changing duplicate images, etc... These do not count toward the other userspace edits that are just junk that people put on pages. These were fixing problems that appear outside of the userpage. Those three deleted ones do not count! MoldyOrange 22:54, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh, okay lol~Ποκεμανιακα0β 23:02, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
The only place the rule seems to have been officially mentioned (other than when people break the rule) is on the Message from the Editor (This is at least the only one I have found), and the wording for it is extremely vague. "Also, keep in mind that the current limit on Userspace edits is three; this not only covers your main Userspace page, but any subpages you may have, and any other User’s page. However, editing others' pages is almost always not allowed, so try to keep your edits to your own page." The way that reads is that any edit to the userspace, counts and once you hit 4, you have broken the rule. If there are exceptions to the rule, then they should be officially mentioned, so problems such as this one won't occur again. - Kogoro | Talk to me | 23:04, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
The exceptions are listed on Template:Welcome. MoldyOrange 23:07, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
I re-read the welcome template (as it's different from when I joined) and the exceptions are listed only for editing another user's page(s) not anything to do with the 3-edit rule. (At least this is how it seems to be worded when I read it) - Kogoro | Talk to me | 23:10, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
And the way it is described (Problems that spread to other parts of Bulbapedia) is pretty straight forward. If the problem appears somewhere else, the edit is not counted. And not all problems are known. There might be a problem down the road that fts into this description. Having a strict list will just become an issue, because of how many times it would become obsolete. We can just deal with every issue as the time comes: it is not a problem to just deal with it when the time comes. MoldyOrange 23:11, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
That brings me to ask, Did any of the two userpages that were deleted cause any problems that spread outward from the deleted pages? The delete log lists them merely as "Author Request" and as a non-sysop, I can't actually see if the pages caused problems anywhere other than the user no longer wanting the pages. (I'm sorry if I seem like a jerk about this ^_^; and I think TTE's going to kill a lot of us soon...) - Kogoro | Talk to me | 23:15, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
If the said user wants to get rid of parts of the userspace, let them. Less userspace is a good thing. And they were just to put the delete tag on! That is how admins know things are to be deleted! MoldyOrange 23:18, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
I understand that fully, and I agree users don't need 50000 pages (I find 4 is more than sufficient) But, he could have circumvented editing the pages, by making a short request message on a sysop's talk page, no? And, was the deletion of the pages so dire that it couldn't wait until October 4th? - Kogoro | Talk to me | 23:21, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
I think, that people should only be able to have 1 userpage, 1 talk page, and talk page archives~Ποκεμανιακα0β 23:22, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Users should be able to have some additional pages; not everything they may be doing will fit into the main userspace, and their userpage may get cluttered up if they put too many things on it. There shouldn't be a strict limit on the number of Userpages, but for something like the games before... those were riddiculous. That's the real problem behind the pages, if they contain useless stuff. ←{Berrymaster|Talk|Contrib}→ 23:26, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Alright. I just read this discussion, and Kogoro, it seems like you're trying awfully hard to get Baby G in trouble. That's not cool. If an admin says "discussion over," the discussion is over. No "but but but." In addition, this isn't the place for a discussion about the userspace limit. Go to the forums if you have issues. In any case, Baby G's edits were justified in this case, so he's not getting in trouble. End of discussion. --ニョロトノ666 00:02, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

New admin

Hi. So, it's probably the differences between the nominator's time zone and the server's, but Martonimos was nominated either on the 6th or the 7th of September, which is a month ago today or tomorrow. Either way, I think it's pretty obvious what needs be done. (Just reminding you :)) --electAbuzzzz 17:41, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Server said 6th, I'm going with 6th. TTEchidna 18:40, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Beats me. We'll make the final decision today. TTEchidna 22:29, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, Martonimos definitely has enough support votes for the nomination to be accepted. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 22:31, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
So did Buzzy but we decided not to. We've got the final say, but we do consider what Bulba's users want. TTEchidna 22:33, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes, ElectAbuzzzz had more supports than opposes, but his nomination was rejected because he's going on a hiatus in November. Martonimos has way more support votes than any other user I've seen get in an admin nomination on this site. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 22:35, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Unnecessary redirects?

I'd brand every one of these unnecessary, what do you think?

None of them are linked to, and whenever an incorrect term is used (seldom), it's spotted and fixed. Cipher 20:12, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Personally, I'd keep them. It's not so much whether or not they're linked to; it's whether or not someone would type it in and expect to be taken to the article they redirect to, and in these cases, I think they would. I often here Pokémon Lv.X referred to as "Level X Pokémon." As for the "Pokmon" ones, I was never too keen on those, but I was outvoted and, at the request of the mob, went and made the rest of the ones that weren't already there. --ニョロトノ666 20:56, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, some redirects exist simply for the sake of search. Others... eh. Pokmon's something I'm divided on. TTEchidna 22:18, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Gah...

This is embarrassing, but how do I check a user's IP address now that I have checkuser powers? :P --ニョロトノ666 01:49, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Could you help me with the template I'm working on? tc26 13:10, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

In what way? TTEchidna 13:13, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Would you know how to do something like:
  • Entering fatefulencounter=yes would show: fateful encounter
    • while replying no would show not fateful encounter
  • ribbon=classic would show the sprite
    • replying none would show the word none

tc26 13:19, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Use a {{#switch:}} statement. I can't exactly help for a long while though, I'm lucky to be on right now. If you want, read up on the Parser Functions extension. TTEchidna 13:24, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! tc26 13:26, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Yep. TTEchidna 19:46, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Deletion request

Hiya, could you do me a small favour and delete this page now that I've been able to move it to the mainspace? Also, just wanna check for future reference - should I just tag something with {{delete}}, or do I have to ask if it's in the userspace? Cipher 20:36, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Tag it no matter what. TTEchidna 20:52, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Yo, Chief, help me out?

Hey TTE, since you're the new Editor, can you help me out? I'd like to change my name to just Sketch. Would you be so kind as to help me out? -Sketchies 21:06, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

I'll do so later on; it stresses the server quite a bit, so I'll do it around midnight here. TTEchidna 21:13, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Okay, you do realize this will be permanent (as in, I'm not moving it back if you want it back). Prepare for server strain in 3... 2... 1... TTEchidna 02:44, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Stop this kid!

Hey, this kid Baby G looks like is obsessed with right capitalizations and pluralizations. He just moved the "Template:User Platinum want" to "Template:User Platinum Want". Looks like as he didn't get the Sprite template moved, he's moving other pages now. hfc2X 23:01, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

*slaps forehead* Dude, the capital W is standard userbox capitalization! And I'm a teen, not a kid! --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 23:03, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
You usually call people younger than you, kid. But anyways, you shouldn't move the page, because now, everyone would have to edit their user pages...not nice.--Tavisource 23:04, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
No they won't. Redirected template work just the same. But they shouldn't be moved in the first place. MoldyOrange 23:05, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
But every other userbox that I've seen has the first letter of every word capitalized. I was just being bold. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 23:06, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
It doesn't matter, people just chose to make it that way, besides, TTEchidna was the one who made it; he will change it if it's necessary, just revert the move if you haven't already. The true meaning of BOLD is doing what is right; not just for yourself, but for otehrs around you.--Tavisource 23:08, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Can't we just end this whole discussion? TTE's probably gonna be mad when he sees how full his talk page is getting. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 23:15, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Sigh. G, yes, some userboxes have all capitalized names. But the "wants" don't have a capitalized W. User Diamond want and User Pearl want have been there since the start. And remember, the rule for the main namespace is "no title case", so for the template namespace... well that's usually not different. TTEchidna 02:39, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

HEY!

Look over there! TTEchidna 22:52, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Move Infobox

I was thinking of adding Mystery Dungeon infomation to the infobox just under the contests segment. Thing is, I have no idea how to go around doing it. So, I need 2 things from you:

A. Approval
B.Help

And, uhh...yeah, that's it. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links

Hrm... tell ya the truth, I was actually thinking of a separate Mystery Dungeon section in which a separate infobox would appear, along with any other data. Thing is, I dunno jack about the MD series. So if you could give me any and all properties of MD moves, that'd be greaaaat. TTEchidna 20:08, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
There's no 'Power' in PMD. Accuracy's there and so is PP, but it's way different from the games. The moves have different ways of affecting the room:
  1. In Front of You: Attacks the ass right in front of you.
  2. Cuts corners: Same as in front of you, but cuts corners.
  3. 1Tile Range: Affects all Pokémon adjacent to you.
  4. 2Tile Range: Affects all Pokémon who have one space between you and them.
  5. Whole Room: Affects whole room.
  6. Whole floor: Affects every ass in the floor (mostly weather effects).
That's all of 'em. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links
So for this we'd need type, damage category, accuracy, base PP, room effect, and... that's all? TTEchidna 17:47, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
That's all I know. My Prima Games guide says that moves have power. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links

'Bout the TCotM

How exactly is that done? I was thinking that I could just subtract the Top contributors of the month for August from those from September to find out how many edits were made that month by each user. Then, I figured out that wouldn't work because of the possibility that a user who would appear in the TCotM wouldn't appear in the TC. Get my drift? So, how is that done? --ニョロトノ666 23:20, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Beats me, Zhen never told me... TTEchidna 02:32, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

subst:Welcome

Hello, I am online alot (in fact, alot more then I should) and I often find myself waiting for something to happen, and I will occasionally run into new members in the recent changes. My point is, I wondering if I am allowed to add the subst:Welcome to a new user's page, or if that is an Admin job. Hope I'm not bugging you! The Dark Fiddler - Smarter than the average bear! 22:11, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Everyone is allowed to do that. Tesh isn't an admin, Theryguy512 isn't an admin, Diby isn't an admin, and I'm not an admin.--Kkllnn blastoise 22:13, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Okay then... does it automatically add the tildes, or do I need to do that? The Dark Fiddler - Smarter than the average bear! 22:15, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
It's automatic.--Kkllnn blastoise 22:16, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
You used to have to sign, but not anymore. TTEchidna 22:43, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Your question has been answered

An admin on PokemonWiki answered you question about the forms: "No, they doesn't. But other books and official sites use it."--Tavisource 23:42, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Ah. Kickass. TTEchidna 00:27, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

About AG172 and AG173

I really don't think it was a good idea to do this. There are so many links in other articles that are not linking to the right episodes. If Woopert wanted to do this then Woopert should of done the work and changed all the links. Personally, I think something should have been discussed with the other users. This will probably lead to errors made by users because they'll insert the wrong episode number. --ケンジガール 01:43, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Well I put it on the forums. Woopert started it, so I figured, hey, finish it. TTEchidna 01:48, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Hey, check out the comments on Kenji-girl's page.--Tavisource 01:49, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Well there are some people around here who don't visit the forums, like me. The topic should of been mentioned on the AG172 talk page as well. --ケンジガール 01:53, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
It was on the talk of AG171, though. TTEchidna 01:56, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
