MY SUBPAGE

When did I give permission to EDIT MY SUBPAGE?! That's right, NEVER!!! --CuboneKing 22:25, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

TTE has the authority to edit anything he wants. MaverickNate 22:36, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Gee, you'd think that you'd be honored. TTEchidna 22:36, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Sorry. I am honered, but a bit ticked off that you didn't ask me for permission. I'll go toy around with that fact a bit. --CuboneKing 22:39, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Either way, you react far too harshly. TTEchidna 22:52, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, I lose it sometimes. I've calmed down for now. --CuboneKing 22:54, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Can

PLease can I edit my userpage...I just want to put in a team for SoulSilver totoRulz 15:06, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

There's enough time to do that before the English releases. TTEchidna 23:09, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

What are we to make of these?

Although rather well made, they're certainly unofficial. They would go well in certain tables though.--MisterE13 23:17, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Whoa what the...
Officially we can't really use them, since firstly, it never goes into those sprites, and secondly... they're absolutely fanmade. Plus, what tables? TTEchidna 23:19, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

OK! :) Pedraito 23:26, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

They're gone.--MisterE13 15:49, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

New Images

It's Done!!! I finnaly finished with Images of Pokemon's infobox. Like I promised, I put New Images on 150 First Pokemons, Some Pokemons I didn't, Cause the images that already existed were good. Well... If you want find goods Pokemon's Artworks by Ken Sugimori, you should take look in this site: http://pokemon.supercheats.com/pokemon.php?id=25, There are a lot of them. Bye! I hope help this site. Pedraito 00:50, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh man, some of those are even higher res than the ones on the Japanese dex. Are they okay with us using them? TTEchidna 01:31, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

I think that don't have problem, cause They allow images to be copied...If they not wanted they would block copy them. ;) Pedraito 02:35, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Actually, they are taken from Pokemon.com, which has higher quality all the time than the Japanese one. You just need to extract it from the SWF.--Mew a.k.a. Immewnity was here at 15:26, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

You suck

I don't like you.

Also, did you seriously need the you-know-what sprite for anything on the Pedia, or was it just gonna be in a user template or something? --Darkeiya talk to me! 02:47, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Are you joking? Don't be dissing the Echidna. He's cool.--Midnight Blue 03:05, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
You're looking for a block. --CuboneKing 03:07, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
He can't block me. I'M INVINCIBLE! --Darkeiya talk to me! 03:08, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Uh, guys she's kidding. She's his friend. And CK, you can't threaten blocks. --ケンジガール 03:09, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
I know I can't. I knew this was a joke all along, so I took this to la-la land and threatened a block. Crazy, huh? --CuboneKing 03:11, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Uh, yeah. --ケンジガール 03:12, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
This is pointless. --CuboneKing 03:14, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Dang, I wish I can be like that with my friends. But I was just making sure.--Midnight Blue 03:21, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Hey about the templates.

Sorry, I'm just not thinking straight right now. I need to stay away from Bulbagarden for a week. So see you in a week.--Midnight Blue 01:59, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

O...kay. That's about the worst reaction I've had to me reminding LT's yet... TTEchidna 02:35, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Questions about stuff

Hi there. I got some questions about Bulbapedia itself.

1. What happened to Project Overgrow? Never heard of anything on Phase V. 2. Are Pokémon cries going to be implemented anytime soon? Or their implementation is dependent on the current state of Project Overgrow? 3. The prevnexts need to be correctly centered. They're a little moved to the right. 4. What about uploading the soundtracks to the server and make them play (after the visitor/user gives the command to)? Hearing the creepy music while reading the article about Lavender Town can be interesting... =D 5. Are you planning to implement interface changes at the navigation and editing levels like Wikipedia is currently working on? 6. Why are Gen IV Pokémon sprites static? Why aren't the animated versions being used when their respective Crystal and Emerald counterparts are? 6.1. Also, can the white background on Crystal's front sprites be fixed? This also happens with certain back sprites, which could be using the third version counterparts, anyway. 6.2. Since FRLG had different back sprites for some Pokémon like Alakazam and Gyarados, should they be added as well? At least, upload them to the Archive, if they aren't there already. 6.3. I think there should be a better identification of the male and female differences for Gen IV onwards sprites.

That is all for now. =P Pokemon lover 15:27, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm not TTE, but I can answer some of your questions.
 • 3. That's probably a browser specific problem, and not so big deal anyway.
 • 4. That sounds quite impossible due to copyright concerns.
 • 6. Because no one has uploaded them yet. You can do it if you have the patience to copy each frame from the animation and put them together as an image file.
 • 6.1. (partial) Sprites can be transparentified on almost any image editor except MS Paint.
UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 15:51, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
1: We don't currently have the software capabilities to implement stage 5.
2: We think that the Pokemon cries are what caused the server to go crazy for about a month, so we're taking it slowly with those.
6.2: Go ahead if you feel like it.
6.3: Such as...?--RexRacer 15:57, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
1. We're trying to get the software, like Rex said.
2. Whenever we get the chance and they don't cause a server explosion.
3. It looks kinda off center, but that's likely an issue with it being 100% of the page width and at least somewhat of an illusion caused by roundycorners.
4. Um, no, absolutely not. It'd be great to do but we kinda don't want Nintendo to kill us-- they do sell the soundtracks for the games, and those songs are on there, so no.
5. I'm not gonna go anywhere near that stuff... not yet at least. If Wikipedia calls it beta, then it's nowhere near ready to be used on Bulba. Wikipedia isn't just the big brother wiki for everyone in that, too... we wait for the stable release of new versions of MediaWiki as well, while Wikipedia goes on and uses new versions even in their alpha stages. If this new interface is part of a future iteration of MediaWiki, then it will come in time.
6. We're not making all the gamesprites gifs because they have crappy colorspace and can't be resized well, so if we were to have them animated, it'd be as pngs. And animated pngs are still somewhat new so there's not many ways to do it. Plus, all the Emerald animations were pretty much assembled by someone, rather than ripped from the game directly. So if you wanna try it... go ahead.
6.1. Get GIMP or Photoshop and get rid of it-- just make sure that you don't accidentally make parts of the Pokémon itself transparent, like what someone did on Mewtwo.
6.2. We're going to have to get a list of Pokémon whose backsprites differ between same-generation games so we can devise a system for those filenames. Then we'll figure out how to put them in the template.
6.3. I don't really know how we could do it... it's on the Pokémon's page under gender differences... if a person can't notice it on the sprites just by looking at them, they should open the two images in different tabs and scroll between. TTEchidna 20:32, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
I hope I'm not too late to this party. There's a whole article full of gender differences right here. All the sprites, of course, are used on the Pokémon's page and you can see them there too. —darklordtrom 04:58, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Sorry for the late response but here it goes.
 • 1. OK, if it's due to issues with resources, then it's more than reasonable.
 • 2. So the cries are the cause of all those problems with the servers. But are those server-specific issues that could be solved by switching to a more capable server?
 • 3. But only Gecko-based browsers support roundy corners for now. So the others (including for crappy IE, but that one is to be ignored) will show straight corners and that still makes the prevnexts off-centered.
 • 4. Well, even though it's only NoJ who sells the soundtracks, they would likely found Bulbapedia and put a lawsuit on you. Anyway, it's still dangerous to do such risky implementation, especially since either NoA or NoE can put the hands here by themselves. Thus, you are right.
 • 5. Wikipedia uses alpha stuff? O_O Then don't put on here definitely, specially without knowing if it's part of MediaWiki.
 • 6. But is the reason for not implementing APNGs the fact it's still new or because of IE and its complete disrespect for web standards? If it's due to the latter, then stop supporting IE already. Don't make the site useless for its users but put the advanced features that any web standards compliant browser supports.
 • 6.1. I might try it so they may appear in the future.
 • 6.2. It's more complicated than it seems though. I don't know how to put them in the template without distorting it.
 • 6.3. What about a blue background for males and pink background for females? Or put the gender symbols in their respective places. Pokemon lover 15:00, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

I think you can do this, at least bring it up on the forums...

... I would, except what I want to bring up is the problem: Wrong username or password. You have used up your failed login quota! Please wait 15 minutes before trying again. Don't forget that the password is case sensitive. Forgotten your password? Click here!

... however, this was both my first login and was all correct. This is happening in all my browsers. I cleared my cookies, cache, and everything.--Mew a.k.a. Immewnity was here at 15:31, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

I got the exactly same thing when I tried to login earlier today to BMGf. Though you can get there if you have checked the "Remember Me?" box, as I had done on another computer. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 15:45, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

the forums got upgraded and there was a minor file that seemily escaped the clutches of the upgrade causing forum log-in problems. it has been fixed now and there shouldnt be anymore problems. -- MAGNEDETH 05:19, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi again! ;)

Hello there I'm back! xD, well, first of all I wanted to tell you what I could do last time we talked, about that mails that never got to you! Anyway, I only wanted to ask you about how to import japanese pokemon games. You said you're going to have SoulSilver as soon as it is out in Japan! I want one too! LOL, so that's what I wanted to ask you, but you never got my mail, and I didn't want to bother you here, because this space isn't here like for chatting :D... so.. how? Could you tell me? I was on vacacion on California last month, so I wanted you to tell me before or while I was there, so I could do whatever I needed to do probably there, since I live in Mexico City and maybe I won't be able to ask for my game here, but you didn't tell me, because you didn't know I asked you! LOL. So, either way, if I can't get them here my cousins that live there, in Huntington Beach could help me out with this :). Please? How? Thanks!!... Sorry to bother you over here! :D YukitoOoO 03:15, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Import sites, like Play-Asia, are the best place to import the game from. TTEchidna 04:45, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
I hope you don't get mad but, someone had juuuuuust told me about the Play-Asia site LOL I didn't know it existed! But thanks anyway :) Sorry agian ha (Ooops?)YukitoOoO 05:15, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Bout Something thats Important....

TTE please help me... my Bulbawiki Forum was hacked and its IP address was: 75.126.149.175.. If you can find that guy... please notify me... i remembered opening it last night and then when i try to open it five times with the same Username and Password it didn't open, then back at my Yahoo Mail , Mukashi has sent me a mail that says that a user tried to open my account and it tried 5 times to open it .. another mail arrived saying that my Username and Password where GIO and uyar7xz9... but i realized that that's not my password .. i think it was hacked.... "AngelGuardian" 06:45, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Calm down, TTE is not here ATM. Once TTE sees this, he'll get to it ASAP.--ForceFire 07:06, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
I love how everyone comes to me now. Anyway, don't freak out. It was a server error. That IP address is the IP address of Bulbagarden itself, "Mukashi" is better known as Mr. Bossman Archaic. We were updating the forum software and one file got hung up and blew everyone out of it... as you can see from everyone assuming that I was the best person to talk to about this... somehow.
So don't freak. Log in normally as you would. It's fine now. TTEchidna 07:26, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Is there

Is there a way to remove the Bulba logo from the top of the page, and change it to something else. You can in Uncyclopedia, and I was wondering if you could on this wiki to. Also, theres a glitch in the Sig expand process. <span class="sigexpand"> . It wouldnt work like it suppose to. If I type in

[[User:ShinyPikachu| <span class="sigexpand"><span style="color:Red;"><big>S</big><span class="sighidden">hiny </span></span>
<span style="color:Blue;"><small>P</small><span class="sighidden"><small>ikachu</small></span></span>]][[User talk:ShinyPikachu
|<span style="color:Black;"><big>h</big><span class="sighidden">ello</span>]]

the result is Shiny Pikachuhello

As you can see, it desplays the full signature, instead of making it expandable. If you could fix this glitch, it would be appreciated.

--Thank-you for your time ShinyPika 18:11, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

First answer, that'd be in your CSS. You can change that at User:ShinyPikachu/monobook.css if you want. Second answer, that's because we don't have a span class of "sigexpand" defined. If you get the definition for it for me I can see about getting it put into the definitions of the classes, but currently, no. TTEchidna 19:06, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

2 small questions...

1: I'm interested in donating my spare time to adding party templates to the necessary articles. However, I have no freaking clue how to use them. Could you please help me with that? I have tried several things on the sandbox, but to no avail =/

2: How do I heal your Shaymin? =3 Sidnoea 07:05, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Wait until we've upgraded them. Then I'll set up directions. Second off, you can't. It faints when I run out of talk space. TTEchidna 07:08, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Okay then. Thanks. Sidnoea 19:19, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Archives Cleanup Month ???

Hey TT, i have noticed (On Bulbagarden Archieves) that you have declared July as Archieve Cleanup month. I think it should be removed or edited now because July even august is over now and september has been started, so i think you should edit it now. I am just giving you a suggestion. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 12:11, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

No, it's still July. Archives aren't clean yet. TTEchidna 18:51, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Requestion: Template talk:TMchart#PBR. - unsigned comment from LaprasBoi (talkcontribs)

Proposed evobox edit

I find myself frequently trying to click on the sprite of the Pokémon, not the name... So I propose you change every line that reads like to instead read as such:

So instead of:

We would get:

i.e. clicking the Bulbasaur sprite will lead us directly to the Bulbasaur page. Pages already including the evobox would not need to be changed, because '2' is defined as the name of the Pokémon, and, because I used 'link=2', that means the pages would already have the correct value defined for the image link to work.

What do you think of this? Marluxia.Kyoshu 15:14, 4 September 2009 (UTC) (Template talk:evobox/2 Marluxia.Kyoshu 15:18, 4 September 2009 (UTC))

I'll put it in next chance I get. By the way, the link would be to Bulbasaur (Pokémon). TTEchidna 23:57, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
So yeah you would need I appreciate it :3 Marluxia.Kyoshu 23:26, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Help

I want to change my page [1] from Sprites I've Uploaded to Images I've Uploaded. Is there any way I can change the title, or do I have to make a new page?--I'm Pokélova(Talk to me) 13:30, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Click the "Move" tab to scoot the page to a new title. Just do us a favor and mark the old page for deletion when you do that (since moving will turn the old title into a needless redirect). -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 19:10, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Need some help

A new source came in on the talk page for the new Johto numbering and I would like your opinion on the source, I already put down details where the source of the information can be located but it does contain some new numbering details which can be truly verified such as the new dex # for Sentret. -Tyler53841 05:01, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Oh really? Pix? TTEchidna 05:01, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
A video link that is posted on the Johto Dex talk page. I also posted a comment there that has the details of where in the video to look since I am usually very through about this stuff in terms of sourcing. -Tyler53841 05:14, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Do they fall at the same place they did in the original Johto Dex, being that their numbers are all lower than Yanma's? TTEchidna 05:18, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Let's see here after going over the video link at [2] again which starts after 7:00 despite having trouble dealing with the small pictures

17 and 19 or Rattatta and Sentret no change from original numbering

24 Caterpie no change either (though picture takes some work to make out)

34 and 37 Geodude and Zubat no change

so it looks like there are no new changes to their original dex numbers and it also confirms Mareep as #53 -Tyler53841 05:37, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Good. As predicted. It's good then. TTEchidna 05:40, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

This

Do you think its possible? Like to have Spinda sprites change to a random, yet specific PV when the page is loaded?--MisterE13 00:54, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

More clearly, could we set it to load a random, though defined, PV then generate R/S/FR/LG, E and DP/Pt Spinda sprites?--MisterE13 22:35, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

About Japanese Crystal

375087_20177_front.jpg

It does say version on the cover. バージョン means version. The Japanese article does not have that. Sorry I just wanted to make a point. And I don't recall seeing that word on any other covers. Except in English on the back of Japanese Gold and Silver.--Midnight Blue 02:39, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

I was doubtful about this as well but actually concluded that "Version" is there. They say it in the commercial too, which can be watched here. And you say that the term is in English on the back cover of the Japanese GS? Sorry to ask but can you prove it or cite a reference that contains a picture of the games' back cover? Pokemon lover 14:38, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Hrm. I point mostly to the fact that Crystal was the first game to use katakana, rather than kanji, for its version name, not counting Yellow (赤/緑/青 and 金/銀, vs ピカチュウ and クリスタル). After Crystal Japan moved to the logo style they have now (and still use as of HGSS). That's the issue.
However, if it is ポケットモンスタークリスタルバージョン on the box... it's hard to argue. TTEchidna 21:44, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Thank you. I actually find it interesting.--Midnight Blue 23:35, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Template:Availability

You didn't seem to get around to amending the gen4ex parameter. In case you're more out of it than I feel right now, required fields will be "hgss" (for hgss only), "dppt" (for dppt only; not that I've used this one yet so feel free to just call dpp if you want), "heartgold" (for, um, heartgold only), and "soulsilver" (for that other game only). You may also want to consider adjusting the pal park one ("pal") as to "unshade" the HGSS things. It could, potentially, become deprecated as all legends can now be caught within Generation IV. Up to you, O Bossman. Cheers. —darklordtrom 10:55, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Actually, now that I think about it the existing "pal" parameter works just as the intended "hgss". Although that would be terribly, terribly lazy, wouldn't it... —darklordtrom 11:00, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Like with FRLG, if it can only be found in one of the games...
gen4ex=hgss|
hgssex=heartgold|
for example. Same was done with Slowpoke:
gen3ex=frlg|
frlgex=leafgreen|
TTEchidna 21:26, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Fantastic. Didn't see that frlgex part. —darklordtrom 21:29, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Besides. The gen3ex and gen4ex only work on the original pair. Emerald and Platinum control their own things. TTEchidna 21:33, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Japanese GS back cover

Midnight Blue showed me the back cover of the Japanese Silver and "Silver Version" can be read there in plain English. ;-)

446340_68460_back.jpg

I want to add it to the GS article but I don't know if there's something else that relates to this, other than the katakana for バージョン ba-jyon (version) being there. Pokemon lover 12:43, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Huh. Interesting. I guess they took a page from our book. TTEchidna 15:46, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
OK, if it's only that, I'll just add it to the GS article. Of course, if there's something relevant missing, it should be put in to complete the info. Pokemon lover 09:52, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Johto gym leaders

Can you please protect their pages so people aren't adding the skeletons of party templates like with Falkner? I think it's great that people are learning the new templates, but it looks kinda crappy with a template that only has Falkner's old sprite, and the names on it. It'd be best if they could be protected until we have all of the sprites, both Pokémon and Leaders, and at least the moves. Abilities can wait for a bit, since those aren't as easy to find out. R.A. Hunter Blade 13:24, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Done. Every Gym Leader is protected. -Sketch 13:34, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. I probably shoulda asked a few days ago, but oh well. R.A. Hunter Blade 13:36, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Just Johto, or Kanto too? TTEchidna 15:45, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Hmmm.... sure. All of their templates have already been upgraded to the new standard, so it shouldn't be a problem right now. R.A. Hunter Blade 20:43, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Good. TTEchidna 20:58, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Just a qucik question

If I can find nice clear pictures of the back cove of the boxes in Japanese can I upload them into the archives or I was also thinking that maybe not be that important.--Midnight Blue 00:37, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Would they have a specific use? MaverickNate 00:38, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

HG/SS Sprites

Hi, TTEchidna, please watch this video it reveals all the sprites for the important characters such as the Gold, Katone, the Kanto and Johto Gym Leaders, Elite Four, Lance, Rocket Executives, and Giovanni. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xC21_vYJgg This video gives the source that they got ripped from. The user forgot Brock's sprite but he added it another video as a video response. The video of which can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl0UGRlv2Fg I just wanted to let you know about this in case you didn't. :) --Dialgafan1 01:30, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

we are so far ahead of you youre about to go a lap down. all the Pokemon sprites will uploaded shortly along with the corresponding trainer sprites (if they havnt already been uploaded). we got it covered. -- MAGNEDETH 01:39, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
Yeah. We got 'em all. Don't worry. TTEchidna 03:00, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Silver in HGSS = new name(s)

Hey TTE. I was playing HeartGold (on an emulator) and when I got to Prof. Elm's lab after defeating the rival, the policeman from GSC was there once again, asking for the name of the thief (rival). I gave a blank name for him and this is what I got:

silver_hgss.png

So his name is not シルバー Silver anymore but guess what, it's ンウル Soul. So in SS, it must be ハート Heart.

Let's sum it up:

 • the girl is definitely Kotone;
 • Gold seems to be Hibiki now;
 • Silver is Soul (HG)/Heart (SS), which means we have to hack through the games to find his real name. Pokemon lover 12:12, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
And... so? We didn't start calling Blue Green yet. GS still matters. The rival is Silver (game) because Soul (game) is Kotone (game), and the fandom doesn't wanna search for Soul to get Silver. They want Kotone.
Think of it this way. Pearl is fine as he is (though I do somewhat want a revote to possibly change him to Barry (game)) because it matches up with Special, where the character based on him is named Pearl! Silver's Special counterpart? Silver! Gold's? Gold!
In closing we're not moving it. If anything his name's Kamon. TTEchidna 22:16, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
I understand your point of view but are we going to provide what the fandom really wants or the real names of characters (regardless of being officially recognized or not)? I'm not saying to change anything for now. We'll only change when we get conclusive in-game data, as usual. And are the Special characters actually using the names of their in-game counterparts? 'Cause I believe that Barry is Pearl's real in-game name. If not, how can we explain his relationship with Lucas and Dawn, namewise? Pokemon lover 15:48, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
The Gold (game) page should at least give his Japanese name as Hibiki, considering that's what the Japanese versions of HGSS give his name as. The current version doesn't even mention the name Hibiki. As for the rival, putting a disambiguation notice for people looking for Kotone isn't that hard. I don't see how the DPP rival's manga counterpart is relevant for his name in the games, considering the fact that we don't call Lucas "Diamond." --Evice 20:32, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Japanese name is still Gold. Just like Red's is still Red. Not Satoshi. Red. RED. R. E. D. Gold stays Gold. TTEchidna 22:30, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
HeartGold and SoulSilver call him Hibiki, like Kotone is Kotone and not named after a game. And I never mentioned Red, so I don't see why you seem to be correcting me on something I never brought up. Also, you completely ignored my other points. --Evice 23:36, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
And? FireRed and LeafGreen call Blue "Green". We don't have any fullout confirmation yet on official names. If we hack the data and see PLAYER HIBIKI next to PLAYER KOTONE, PLAYER HIKARI, and PLAYER KOUKI, then we'll change it. But until we know otherwise he's Gold and will STAY Gold. TTEchidna 23:41, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
I'm talking about his appearance as an NPC (similar to the case with Brendan, May, Lucas, and Dawn's names). Hibiki is given to the male character when the female is chosen and Kotone is given to the female character when the male is chosen. Also, thanks for continuing to ignore my other points. --Evice 23:43, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
That's the point though. We don't have all data. We shouldn't make any changes until then. Yeah sure, they're Hibiki and Kotone when NPCs, doesn't make a difference. Gold isn't exactly a name you'd give your kid. TTEchidna 23:47, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Template:Moveentry

You could remove for Burmy?, Shellos/Gastrodon, and Cherrim as well. No difference besides sprite. ht14 22:10, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

That's the thing, though. They have separate sprites. Except Cherrim. But sprite difference matters. Freakin' Castform doesn't change. TTEchidna 22:17, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
Cherrim doesn't have anything, Shellos was there a long time ago, Castform changes types (hence STAB) I propose that if there are seperate sprites OR types we should put them (ie no Cherrim).--MisterE13 15:45, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
In other words, anything that we can put different information in the template, we should put both.--MisterE13 01:41, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Eh. I'd say the forme differences that stay outside of battle are the ones that matter, since they're then programmed differently enough to possibly have different movelists one day. TTEchidna 01:43, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
But what about those of us who don't know which alt-form Blizzard would get STAB from? They would just see italics then use Rain Dance... a final, fatal move. If you're still not convinced, I accept that but someone will have to remove all the ones I put in.--MisterE13 02:03, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
I'd assume people aren't that dumb. If they're using Castform, they know what it does. TTEchidna 02:25, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

TCG template edits

 1. Great Pokémon (when class=Great): Needs an awesome border like the ones on the cards.
 2. Pokémon LEGEND (when class=Legend): Awesome border, also, evostage needs to be Pokémon LEGEND, not Basic
 3. Trainer cards no longer exists. Now called Goods cards. Infobox needs to reflect that. Goods cards colors are blue, like how stadium are green. Also, we need the image switch from the pokecard infobox to be on the trainer cards too. MaverickNate 03:24, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
TRAINERS!? ARE GONE?! TTEchidna 05:20, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Apricorn

Hello TTE, I was looking at the Apricorn page and saw that the Poké Ball sprites had been uploaded. I do not know if that is what you want or not so I left it. I did fix the Apricorn Sprite link again, as someone decided to try and put the art up instead of the sprite. –MasterKenobi 05:32, 12 September 2009 (UTC) Good good. TTEchidna 06:12, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Gym Leader Templates

Next, I was creating some Gym Leader Template with all the correct teams for the new game and their levels. I was wondering if I should just automatically assume that Pokémon with one ability can only have that ability. (ie. Bugsy's Metapod would only have Shed Skin as shed skin is the only ability for metapod) Also, what colours would you prefer for the Blue template: the crystal, gold, and silver colours OR the blue, red, and green colours (current)? (I prefer the latter) We could also go with something else... Thanks!–MasterKenobi 05:32, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Yes, assume the lone ability. They haven't screwed up abilities to give them illegitimate ones, and moves have been legit since Gen III. Also, for Blue, use... Green color, green color light, and green color dark where you'd use the respective typecolors. If he stays Blue in the US, we'll make it the respective Blue colors. TTEchidna 06:13, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Fixed Blue's template to green colour, they actually look pretty good, nice choice. Do we still want to change the name to Green for the time being or just keep it simple and leave it Blue? I will work on the Pokémon with the single abilities later today, and start on the Elite Four as I have there Pokémon and levels confirmed. I will make sure to keep you updated. Thanks again TTE.–MasterKenobi 07:12, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Keep it Blue, we have no idea if NoA will make him Green or keep him Blue. TTEchidna 08:13, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Done. –MasterKenobi 14:06, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

HGSS exclusive item = killer app for soundtrack lovers

In HGSS, there's an item that you receive at Celadon Mansion called the GB Player. It allows players to swap the games' remixes with the original 8-bit GSC tracks. ;-) In order to get it, you must have all 16 gym badges. Pokemon lover 15:41, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

HeartGold and SoulSilver Screenshots

TTE, I was uploading some pictures but stopped as I do not know if you would like to remove Gold from the pictures before posting them. Also, I have the game now would you like me to do anything? Thanks. –MasterKenobi 16:55, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Is it alright if I continue uploading pictures with Gold in it? (the next thing I was going to do is replace "The player begins the game in here" picture on the New Bark Town page)–MasterKenobi 20:34, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Sure. Change the pictures, though. Make sure No$ is set to VGA (poppy bright). TTEchidna 20:37, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
I will keep updating pictures as I go then. Thanks. –MasterKenobi 21:31, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Need a small favor

I have just finished hours worth of updating as many Pokémon pages that required it as I possibly could, however I am going to need your help due to a few protected pages, so if you get the chance to please update the final four pages that need to be updated with the new Johto Dex numbers are; Charizard, Mr. Mime, Lugia, and Ho-oh.

Also just before someone becomes aware and decides on their own to make it a trivia piece, the Legendary beast new Johto Dex Numbers are the same as their National Numbers. -Tyler53841 19:25, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

I'll get that for you. Thanks so much for the update! Feel free to add that trivia, if you want. Given the JDex isn't a continuation of the KDex I think that's pretty cool and noteworthy. —darklordtrom 19:29, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
That is interesting trivia. They join the others who have that (Bulbasaur, Ralts, Beldum families). TTEchidna 20:05, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Red and Giovanni

Hi TTE, sorry to bother you again. I was wondering what colours you would like to use for the HeartGold and SoulSilver Red template. Also, what colours would you like for the Giovanni HeartGold and SoulSilver template. Thanks again. –MasterKenobi 04:32, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Like I said Blue should be green colors, Red should be obvious. Giovanni, on the other hand... dark grey and red... Team Rocket colors. TTEchidna 04:48, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Sure, I will get right on that.–MasterKenobi 08:24, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Evobox, same problem, different stage

check Azurill. Same problem we had on Onix, this time for the 3rd Pokémon. I tried fixing it myself but there's too much coding there that I don't know and I'd hate messing it up. --electAbuzzzz 13:26, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

To get help with what, specifically? We're not a walkthrough. Heck, 90% of us won't have a chance to play the game until spring. Most of us have just as much idea what to do as you. TTEchidna 16:07, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
I think he's referring to help with functions and policies of the wiki itself, not its contents. Pokemon lover 16:36, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Wiki functions? Basically just mess around with the code until you figure it out. Policies? Here. When asking for help, you gotta be specific. You don't want me to call an ambulance to your house if you're elsewhere. TTEchidna 16:46, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Kenjigirl

Kenji-girl deleted Sandshrew-san userspace and talk. I understand you take messages for Archaic. I've already told him about this. Can you please let him know if he doesn't see his e-mail? Thanks. * --T☆MMYSAN!

 • I don't know what the hell a perma is! My brother didn't deserve this. Kenji-girl is a fricken adult INSULTING MY BROTHER!!! We're trying to be nice about it, but maybe you don't know what an "INTERNET PREDATOR" is. Fix it. This is very real, and the internet is serious. We won't get over it until something is done about it. That's how we roll around here. You shouldn't be on Bulbapedia unles you know crap about Pokémon not stalking children. * --T☆MMYSAN!
Lighten up, kiddo, it's the internet. People are allowed to not like you here. And clearly you don't know anything about internet predators yourself if you're calling the Editor in Chief one. You fail the internets forever~ ♥ --Darkeiya talk to me! 23:55, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Well then maybe you should brush up on shorthand for permanent ban. Your brother came and attacked them, saying "CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO". And believe me, weeaboo is the least of your worries. Tons of people are called that by other people who like anime. Also, how many addresses were given out? Hm? Did Sam ask what his address is? Did she e-date him then spread shit about him on Facebook to ruin his life? No. She banned him from a website for being an asshole little kid. INTERNETS SERIOUS BIZNISS. Only if you decide to take it like so.
And you shouldn't be on Bulbapedia if you're a moron who can't tell the difference between E-PREDATOR and ADMINISTRATOR WHO BANNED YOU. Good day sir. TTEchidna 23:56, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Releax. This is all over, i talked to Kenji-girl, its al water under the bridge. (I do know the diff between e-predators and admins.) If we just forget this whole thing, I'll shut up about the weeaboo crap. * --T☆MMYSAN!

Fighting Dojo Page

The Fighting Dojo page was done horribly should we keep all of that or just wait until I get all the templates ready with the correct moves and such? Also, Trom informed me that the easiest way is to use the AR code. –MasterKenobi 03:34, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Keep the templates ready, but it's gonna need fixing up as a whole... ough. TTEchidna 03:44, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
I guess I will be on it then! I already have the correct Falkner Pokémon along with their moves and put a note that is pretty hard to miss. Also, I just figured out that the players Mom sends items through the delivery men for the player to pick up for saving up. Should I start compiling a list of items or do we not need to worry about it? Also, is there anything else you would like me to do as I play through the game? We are already working on the important characters (Gym Leaders, Rival, E4, etc.) and I have started on a couple of things too. Thank you. –MasterKenobi 04:14, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Well, truly we can go back and get them all later. Do whatever you feel the need to do. TTEchidna 04:49, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
All right. I found out that some of the gym badges now enable different Hidden Machines and a new level of obeying Pokémon. I saw that there is already a table for generation II what should we do for generation IV? –MasterKenobi 04:57, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
That's the problem... you'd need to talk to Teacey (I think he programmed the template on the badge page)... TTEchidna 05:04, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
I will do that then. Thanks TTE! –MasterKenobi 05:11, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Small thing to check into

I was just skimming on the HeartGold and SoulSilver page and the part about the Johto Dex upgrade looks like it could use a slight rewrite since the information just came in and it could use a minor upgrade. The only part that probably needs it is around the end. -Tyler53841 05:17, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Eghgh... Can't I ever just play the game and write about it after... TTEchidna 05:19, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Sure, no need to rush things since I am not trying to be too rude. -Tyler53841 05:21, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Don't worry. The flood will end soon. TTEchidna 05:26, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Rōmaji in articles

Do you think that an article should contain rōmaji after the katakana? For example, in the article for GS, instead of being Pokémon Gold Version (Japanese: ポケットモンスター Pocket Monsters Gold), why not Pokémon Gold Version (Japanese: ポケットモンスター Poketto Monsutā Kin, "Pocket Monsters Gold")?

So the rule would be [English name] (Japanese: [Japanese name in katakana] [Japanese name in rōmaji], "[Japanese name transliterated in English]"). ;-) Pokemon lover 16:33, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

I don't like that idea. I don't want this to turn into Wikipedia with the unnecessary romaji. It looks ugly in my opinion. --ケンジガール 16:55, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Wouldn't it give more complete information with the rōmaji? It's not like the romanization of Japanese is such an unused process. But you're entitled to your opinion. ;-) Pokemon lover 17:00, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Um. No. 90% of this can be solved with ruby text. And Wikipedia's romanization sucks, because you won't know how to pronounce the romanization properly, as both Hepburn and Kunrei-shiki screw it up in their own ways.
If anything, we should have a table of hiragana and a table of katakana on Bulbapedia. I'll try and put it together later on. TTEchidna 21:23, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Items in Generation IV

For the generation IV items do we want to categorize it by generation II and generation IV or do we want to just do the little HGSS thing? –MasterKenobi 23:20, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Eh? What do you mean? Where? What category? TTEchidna 23:31, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
The item category on most pages. An example of the categorization by generation is on the Pewter City page and an example of the version (little letters) is on the Route 205 page. –MasterKenobi 00:02, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
Eh. Do HGSS, just because of FRLG. TTEchidna 00:13, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
I will do that. Also that is for the new items only right, if they are in both games we just leave it as is, correct? -MasterKenobi 00:22, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
Yeap. TTEchidna 01:08, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Generation IV Leader Sprites

Sorry to bother you again TTE, but I was wondering if you cared which leader sprite is used for the leader templates. I was thinking a non-moving one for the gym templates and a moving one for the fighting dojo templates. I already asked Trom and he said he does not care which, and said the moving one slows down computers. As in Brock's case the moving sprite looks really horrible, so that is one reason among many why I would not use the moving ones. Do you have a preference to which? –MasterKenobi 23:02, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Consistency with Pt is my first hope. In all honesty, though, I'd like best if the animations were kept to a minimum for the Trainers-- unlike the Pokémon, they don't loop. TTEchidna 23:04, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
I will keep them as the standard ones then TTE, thanks for your time. –MasterKenobi 00:36, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
By that I do mean, maybe have a longer ending on the animations. Or remove them completely to put elsewhere. TTEchidna 01:32, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Yes, that would be more sensical like the Volkner one, as it is done slower and much better. Where else could we possibly put them though? Some of them are not the greatest... –MasterKenobi 05:04, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
No idea. TTEchidna 05:36, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Spritebox for Trainers? Just a small one off to the side, perhaps. Fill up that whitespace next to the party boxes. —darklordtrom 06:53, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Images

Since you appear to be a staff member, I wish to ask a question. What is the policy about uploading images from another site? The images in question are maps of an area in the Pokemon games. Would I be allowed to upload them for usage on the site? Drake Clawfang 07:15, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

What site? Is it a site specifically for maps or what? TTEchidna 07:20, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
The site is called "vgmaps.com", so yes I'd say so. Except looking again, the maps don't show obstacles like Cut-tree and Strength-boulders, etc, so I'm not sure if they'd be wanted. The images I ask about are the Trick House maps. The site's maps don't show the obstacles, so would they be wanted for usage still? Drake Clawfang 07:22, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
They seem just fine to me. Make sure to credit in the upload description. TTEchidna 07:28, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

No problem, thanks for your help. Drake Clawfang 07:29, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Um...sorry to bother you again, but I've an odd problem to report. As I was uploading the images, the links for my userpage and usertalk at the top of the browser went red, as if the pages didn't exist. I clicked on them and they appeared blank, and I was told they were new pages. I went to my watchlist and it said I had no items on it, and then checked my contributions and it said I had none. Now suddenly, it's back to normal. I've never had this happen on a Wiki before, so....? Drake Clawfang 07:35, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

We have been using images from vgmaps for Locations articles for years. And for your "problem", you seem to have mistake the Bulbapedia Archives for Bulbapedia, itself. You see, you upload images onto the Bulbapedia Archives and then you are able to add them to Bulbapedia, however the Archives are separate from Bulbapedia therefor so is your, userpage, talk page, contributions etc.--Clarky13 07:47, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Ah okay, yeah that's probably it. Thank you for explaining. Drake Clawfang 07:50, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

New Sprite Glitch Found! Should I upload picture?

Hey, TTE, I found out a Generation IV sprite glitch. I found it when I was battling my friend over Wi-Fi ,and the sprites turn into bars. I have a picture, but the screen is little difficult to read. In case if you wanted to know the Pokémon in it, it is my Crobat versus my friend's Groudon. Nevertheless, should I upload the picture?

DB 20:51, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Put it on an image hosting site first so I can see it. TTEchidna 02:48, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Backsprites

All this time, we've had 1 backsprite per generation, right? What if the backsprites are not the same though? Also, they need to be animated (Emerald and on)... ht14 21:45, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Well most often. I think some changed between RS and FRLG, and again between DP, Pt, and HGSS. Only slightly. I'll need to figure out what we can do, though... prehaps it's time for yet another upgrade to the sprite template. TTEchidna 02:47, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Permission

Hello! I'm wanting to ask if I could have permission to upload HGSS pokemon sprites. I have most of them downloaded already with transparency (and 80x80). They just don't have animation (though I didn't see any of that on the pokemon pages, but still). SO. Permission please? Caterfree10 05:16, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Granted. Just make sure to upload them at the correct filenames and tag correctly. Bulbasaur will be your guide. TTEchidna 05:21, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Real HG/SS and Platinum Latias Sprite

Hey, I found the real sprites for Latias in HG/SS and Platinum, I don't know how to add it so I wanted to ask you. I'll give you the pictures to show you. I found the sprite sheet on a site with both frame 1 and 2 of every pokemon in HG/SS, and since Latias' sprite on Latias' page is the D/P one I think they should be changed. Anyway here's the picture of both the frames: 0380Front_f_normal.png and here's the picture of the same sprites but shiny Latias instead: 0380Front_f_shiny.png

Um. They're the same. Her DP sprite was reused in Pt and in HGSS. No surprise there, though, considering that all the rest of the Hoennites got that treatment, as did all of Johto and Hoenn during Gen III.
As for the second frame, no, 90% of them look like crap. Latias is one of the few that looks at least decent. But we're not changing it anyway. TTEchidna 16:51, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
I think you didn't notice the difference of the sprites, I'll show you: Latias_DP_and_Platinum_Differences.png If you look at Latias' left paw (the one at your right) you can see Latias' arm is out and in DP's sprite it's not. And you can see Latias' tail in the Platinum Sprite and her right paw is totally red in Platinum too. If you look carefully at them you can see many differences that I didn't highlight now.
Huh. Well. I'll fix that immediately. The Pt sprite is the HGSS one, right? TTEchidna 17:22, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
Just a future note to Game Freak: Stop making such subtle differences in sprite! TTEchidna 17:27, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
Yes the Pt sprite is the HGSS one, the shiny sprite I posted is also from HGSS, so if you want you can fix it too.

Shadow Pokémon

Seeing as Maverick wants everything to be perfect (like what I want), there is a section here regarding e-cards and some shadow Pokémon (notably Scizor). ht14 23:16, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I've heard of those... wasn't one one of the few ways to get Celebi in Gen III? TTEchidna 01:04, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
I dunno... ht14 20:38, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Something I noticed

After finding out today about Dawn's Cyndaquil I realized a few comparisons with May's other starters that seem similar.

 • The premiere of May's Bulbasaur and Dawn's Cyndaquil in Japan took place after a period of time from the remakes' release in Japan. While Dawn's Cyndaquil took place within a week, Bulbasaur however took place almost 4 months after FR and LG's release in Japan (I checked both dates on the episode and game pages).
 • Lastly the first thing I realized where all this came from was that including May's Squirtle there is a 2 generation gap when I compared with Torchic and Piplup.

Regardless if this becomes trivia or not I should let you be aware of this in case. -Tyler53841 03:04, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

May got Hoenn's Fire and Kanto's Grass and Water.
Dawn got Sinnoh's Water and Johto's Fire. I'll bet she gets either Chikorita (because Ash's Sceptile spent a little time with Bayleef) or maybe Treecko. TTEchidna 03:07, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Can you change my name?

Pokemon: Tabletop Adventures

A group of friends and I have been doing intense work on a tabletop pokemon game. It is going to be a complete game with a bestiary (pokedex), class options and paragon paths (trainer classes/advanced classes), a completely translated Move list, Ability list and well it's taking a very long time to do this project. About 9 months so far and we aren't stopping till we're done. Here's the thing that tangentially relates to you and your position at bulbapedia. The bestiary contains 493 entries. It's probably the hardest part of this entire endeavor. The entires include Move lists, evolution methods, pics, habitats, capabilities and biology. We NEED to do biology entries for each pokemon, but we'd rather not. I am humbly and bluntly asking you for permission to plagiarize bulbapedia's biology entries. It won't be word-for-word since that'd make the book to large, but it'd basically be the same sentences simplified. For more information, see [3]. It will eventually be released as a bunch of free pdfs all over the internet and if we are allowed to use bulbapedia's entries here and there, you'll be sure we'll include our thanks and bulbapedia itself as a major contributor and source. DrMrStark 2 PM, SEP 21 2009

You'll have to tell me how exactly you plan to license this game. TTEchidna 23:03, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
License? HA! We're putting this game on the internet. FOR FREE. We aren't attaching anything but our screen names/handles to the project. Licensing isn't even a thing we were considering. The only reason I'm asking for permission at all is that I don't want a s***storm later from Bulbapedia, even though we won't be making a penny off it, because I respect you folks and your finely put together pokemon wiki. As fans of pokemon, we wouldn't want to erroneously irritate the pokecommunity. Sorry for not being more clear earlier. DrMrStark 10 PM, SEP 22 2009
Well, as long as you're not making anything off it (because even if we'd be pissed, Nintendo would be moreso) and credit us, you should be good to go. TTEchidna 05:59, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
We were well aware of how much our asses would be in jail. We're just doing it for fun. Thanks for the okay. DrMrStark 11:30 PM, SEP 22 2009
Jail, no. C&D, yeah. Lawsuit, yeah. Jail? Nintendo's not Scientology. TTEchidna 06:30, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

True. I seriously doubt anyone would pay for it anyway. We're trying to seem professional in the way we're releasing it, but that doesn't mean it's anything close to a professional product. DrMrStark 12 PM, SEP 23 2009

Well, go forth. Have fun with it. And don't forgo the credit. TTEchidna 07:17, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Some advice here...

I think I've spotted a potential problem user here. Crystal Master is making edits to mainspace articles in an attempt to make it look like Leaf never existed, claiming that Red's story is the "only canon story" in FireRed/LeafGreen, based solely to what's present in HeartGold/SoulSilver. Every attempt I've made to try to convince Crystal Master into leaving references to Leaf have failed. To protect from continued edit wars, I've already had to protect two articles due to Crystal Master's insistence of Leaf never existing, but I fear Crystal Master could turn into a real problem if he continues to make edits involving erasing all traces of Leaf's existence. What should I do should this turn into a problem? --Shiningpikablu252 02:41, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Someone out-adamanted you? Shocking. Anyway, this kid's a dork. HGSS didn't hack Leaf from continuity any more than it did Kris from continuity, or Pt hacked Rowan's leaving of the briefcase at Verity out. Red/Leaf defeated Team Rocket, then Gold/Kris/Kotone had to beat them again. Just because Leaf doesn't appear in HGSS doesn't mean she's not canon. TTEchidna 02:45, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
Shiningpikablu252: The edit I made in the Silver article was made after I asked for your opinion. You said that Leaf should be mentioned in the FR/LG timeline but not in the HG/SS one because it clearly follows Red's continuity. Silver was a G/S/C/HG/SS character, and the part of the article I edited was talking about a HG/SS line, so it was part about that continuity (not the FR/LG one). I was going by what you said. But fine. I will ask before making a Leaf-related edit next time. Happy?
TTE: Aw, thank you. Same to you. Anyway, I partly disagree with your statement about canon, but w/e. This isn't the timeline discussion, so I don't think you would appreciate arguing that here. - Crystal Master 03:39, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
I know I'm a dork. But fact is, Leaf's canon to the timeline period. HGSS is a remake of Crystal, Leaf wasn't included because there was no good place to fit her in. TTEchidna 23:00, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Ugh.

There's a problem. A few minutes ago, I finished removing the old tutor parameters from Pokémon pages... Mr. Mime was the last one, aside from a fakemon, which I also took care of. However, there are not 386 pages in the "completed" category; rather, there are only 381. This means that there are five Pokémon that were not autocategorized. Is there any way to find out what they are so we can take care of them without a manual lookthrough? --ニョロトノ666 18:41, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Five Pokémon don't learn MT moves: Wynaut, Wobbuffet, Ditto, Unown, and Smeargle. There's our problem. TTEchidna 22:57, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Help!

TTE, I tried to upload tha Seviper FR/LG sprite, but instead I uploaded the back sprite! What can I do to delete it?--~/Torterrapower\~ 01:30, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Stop failing of course. Just reupload a new version. And really, FRLG sprites for all Hoenn Pokémon should just be redirects to the RS ones. TTEchidna 04:36, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Also, we use the gamesprite and backsprite templates in the summary for our sprites. Check out Bulbasaur for help on that one. TTEchidna 04:39, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

I did that, and when I uploaded a new verion of it (which WAS the right one) appeared as the backsprite, so I uploaded again. The old one appeared as the normal sprite, but the new one also appeared as the backsprite. --~/Torterrapower\~ 12:23, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

How many people do I have to tell the same thing? You gotta hard refresh twice after uploading because of our setup. TTEchidna 16:17, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Something to bring up

If you seen my recent work I was able to use the Pokémon list from Serebii.net to update the list of Pokémon that appear when Headbutt is used on a tree. But what I found is that there is new evidence that Caterpie and Weedle as well as their evolutions may indeed be version exclusives. Course for that site for the moment I am working with the more recent updates since the older updates hadn't been corrected yet. -Tyler53841 16:22, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

...Is this information found anywhere except Serebii, by any chance? --ニョロトノ666 18:55, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
In-game. The rule is not if it is found on the internet somewhere else, it's whether or not it is easily obtainable otherwise. MaverickNate 18:57, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Just play the game, Poli. As for Caterpie and Weedle, I've found both, thanks. TTEchidna 21:59, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
No problem, I am also happy with myself for deleting that stuff from Metapod's page awhile back since there wasn't conclusive evidence which at least got rid of the misinformation back then.-Tyler53841 03:12, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

HGSS Pokédex entries

Shouldn't the current available entries have JP in there, informing they're translated from Japanese? If so, how can I add the code? Pokemon lover 19:44, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

The Gen I/II Pokémon seem to use their GS entries for HGSS. The others I have no idea. As for others, some people have been putting in the DPPt entries that are in some ROM patch. Which is wrong. Very wrong. TTEchidna 01:45, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

Glitch

I believe I found a glitch involving Focus Punch. To make sure it wasn't a fluke, I tried it several times and it worked. It's a minor glitch, but here it is:

 1. In a double battle, order the first Pokemon to use Focus Punch
 2. When the command box for the second Pokemon appears, press B to cancel the first command
 3. Now select and use any item for the first command
 4. For the second command, do an attack.
 5. Even though you canceled the usage of Focus Punch, the first Pokemon will "tighten its focus"...but won't attack. It will prepare to use Focus Punch, but won't actually use it. Even if it isn't attacked, Focus Punch won't execute.

I'm not sure why it happens, but it happens. I think it may have to do with Focus Punch have priority over items, but I'm not sure. Is there like, a page I should add this to or something? Drake Clawfang 21:19, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

That sounds like a glitch to me. Did the item execute? If not then it's a major one. If so, it's just a little quirk. Probably should go on the Gen IV glitches page and on the Focus Punch page. TTEchidna 00:10, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
Yes, the item executes fine. As for Gen 4, I'm not sure if it's in Gen 4, it was Emerald I found it in. Drake Clawfang 00:50, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
Test in FRLG and RS. See if it's all Gen III. Then test in Gen IV. TTEchidna 01:27, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
Can't, don't have any other Gen3 games around and don't have any Gen4 ones either. Drake Clawfang 01:46, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
Well get a DS. They're cheap these days. C'mon man. You're missing a hell of a lot. TTEchidna 02:17, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
